YesPornPlease and VShare.io were reported down in early March 2020, a few weeks after MG Premium Ltd. sued the operators of both sites in federal court in Washington State. The outage was not the whole story. A later March 2020 report described access restrictions on YesPornPlease, and a March 2022 report described a damages judgment against five individual defendants and an order transferring the yespornplease.com domain. The public reporting does not establish whether either site is reachable today, and this article does not claim otherwise.
How the case began
On February 14, 2020, MG Premium Ltd. filed a copyright complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington. The defendants were unnamed “Doe” operators whom the company said ran YesPornPlease.com and VShare.io. This was a civil lawsuit seeking damages and relief, not a criminal prosecution. XBIZ covered the filing on February 27, 2020, in its report on the complaint. The complaint itself is available as a court pleading PDF.
What the complaint alleged
Everything in this section comes from the plaintiff’s pleading. None of it is a court finding at the time of filing.
The two sites and how they were said to work together
The complaint described YesPornPlease as a video-indexing site and VShare as a related hosting service. According to the complaint, users uploaded videos to VShare and the operators placed assigned links to them on YesPornPlease, so the two sites were operated in concert. Reporting by TorrentFreak on March 2, 2020, described the same theory.

The infringement and takedown claims
MG Premium alleged that copyrighted works were made available without authorization, identifying 3,078 works that it said were offered between July 2017 and January 2020. It also alleged that 98 percent of takedown notices were ignored. Both figures are the plaintiff’s own claims.
The safe-harbor argument
The complaint argued that the operators did not qualify for the DMCA safe harbor. It pointed to the absence of a registered agent, a failure to respond to takedown notices, and no repeat-infringer policy. That is the plaintiff’s theory of this case. It is not a general statement that user-upload platforms cannot qualify for a statutory safe harbor. Answering that broader question would require the full opinion and the procedural record, which are not summarized in the public reporting cited here.

The March 2020 outage and the restrictions that followed
On March 2, 2020, TorrentFreak reported that both sites were down following the lawsuit. That is a dated observation of outage, and it should be read that way. It is not a record that either service ceased operating permanently.
The next relevant report, dated March 29, 2020, said YesPornPlease had moved to apparent geographic access restrictions rather than remaining fully unavailable. Its headline also noted that PayPal and Cloudflare were being asked to unmask the operators. The March 29 report describes that situation as of its date, and nothing in the reporting cited here shows what the access picture looked like afterward.

The 2022 judgment
On March 2, 2022, TorrentFreak reported that the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington had awarded statutory damages of $36,495,000 for 2,433 videos. The award ran jointly and severally against five individual defendants. The report quoted Judge Settle’s judgment:
“In its discretion and in the interests of justice, the Court will therefore award statutory damages of $15,000 for each of the 2,433 offending videos, for a total of $36,495,000.”

According to the same report, the court also ordered the yespornplease.com domain disabled and transferred to MG Premium. The report added that the judgment did not mention VShare.io. Based on that reporting, the judgment should not be read as having transferred VShare or as establishing that VShare is shut down. The full text of the judgment is not reproduced in the cited report, so the reporting is the basis for these details.

- Allegation versus ruling. The operator structure, the takedown failures and the safe-harbor gaps come from the complaint. The damages and the domain order are the reported outcomes of the judgment.
- Temporary versus permanent status. The March 2020 outage and the later access restrictions are dated reports. Neither is a verified statement about current availability.
- Claimed versus awarded damages. The plaintiff’s claimed loss is a separate figure from the court’s award, and the two should not be treated as interchangeable.

What is and is not established
The public record supports a clear historical account: a copyright complaint was filed in February 2020, both sites were reported down in early March 2020, YesPornPlease was reported to be restricting access later that month, and a 2022 judgment was reported with damages and a domain-transfer order.
Several points remain unestablished in the sources cited here:
- Whether VShare.io resolves or operates today.
- Where yespornplease.com currently points, given the reported transfer order.
- Whether the 2022 judgment was appealed or modified.
- How much of the award has been collected.
For any of these, the most recent dated reporting is the March 2022 TorrentFreak article, and it does not speak to present-day status. Check the live sites and court docket directly before describing either service as currently available or unavailable.
