Kirishima Miyama, the man Yoshino Somei has been sent to live with and engage to, is not the easygoing figure he first appears to be. According to ANIPLUS Asia’s official synopsis, an incident reveals his “true nature.” That moment changes the arrangement from a polite family truce into something driven by danger and competing loyalties.
The setup: why Yoshino is in Tokyo
Yoshino Somei is the granddaughter of a yakuza leader in Osaka, in the Kansai region. Kirishima Miyama is the grandson of a family leader in Tokyo, in the Kanto region. The two families have agreed to a truce, and the engagement is part of that deal. The older generation arranged it, so it is a political bargain as much as a personal one.
The practical effect is immediate. Yoshino leaves her home in Osaka and moves into Kirishima’s world in Tokyo. She is not simply meeting a fiancé. She is being placed inside the other family’s territory, where she has little independent footing.
The reveal: a warm welcome that does not hold
Kirishima first presents himself as warm and ordinary. That initial impression matters because the episode relies on it. The welcome briefly suggests the arranged engagement might be manageable, and then an incident shows otherwise.

#1 Best Overall
Kodansha’s official manga synopsis makes the same contrast in plainer terms. It describes Kirishima as “popular, charming, and seems totally normal” before pointing to a violent side behind that image. The anime’s ANIPLUS Asia synopsis is shorter, saying only that an incident reveals his true nature. Taken together, the two sources establish the core turn: the surface and the man underneath do not match.
The official listings do not walk through every action in the closing minutes, so this explanation does not describe the exact choreography or dialogue of the final scene. If you need that level of detail, rewatch the last few minutes of the episode rather than relying on secondhand summaries.

What the ending changes
The reveal shifts the engagement’s tone. Yoshino is no longer entering a conventional romance with a charming partner. The relationship now carries danger, family politics, and two people with competing wills. Her position is also more precarious, since the marriage was never her choice and the man she has been given has just shown a threatening side.
It is worth being precise about what the ending does not do. It does not resolve the engagement, and it does not show that Yoshino has fallen in love with Kirishima. Those ideas are reasonable readings of the setup, but the episode’s official description supports only the reveal and the change in tone. Treat the emotional direction as interpretation, not as a plot fact.
Episode details and title variants

Reading the source manga
If you want to see how the reveal is set up on the page, the manga is the natural next step. Volume 1 is available as a Penguin Random House paperback. Keep in mind that it is the source material for the anime, not a continuation of the Episode 1 story, so its chapters may frame Kirishima and the engagement differently from the episode’s pacing.
Streaming availability depends on your country and on the service’s current catalog, so check the listing in your region before assuming the episode is available.
