Grace Kelley, the daughter of singer Wynonna Judd, was arrested in Millbrook, Alabama, on April 5, 2024. The Elmore County Sheriff’s Office booking roster lists three charges: indecent exposure, obstructing governmental operations, and soliciting prostitution. The roster names the Millbrook Police Department as the arresting agency. What the public record does not yet show is how any of those charges ended, and the roadside details reported in the press come from police statements rather than court findings.
What the booking record shows
The Elmore County Sheriff’s Office roster is the primary record of the arrest. It lists the following details.

The roster carries a warning that charges and bail can change after court appearances and may not reflect the current status of the case. Treat the table as a snapshot of the booking, not a current docket.
What was reported about the roadside incident
The Los Angeles Times, in an article by Christie D’Zurilla published April 12, 2024, described Kelley as standing beside an Alabama highway with a sign and said her body was exposed. The paper attributed those details to Millbrook Police Chief P.K. Johnson. The Times said it could not immediately reach Millbrook Police for comment. E! News, in a report by Sabba Rahbar dated April 9 and updated April 12, 2024, carried the same basic arrest account.

The Times also quoted Johnson, speaking to the Daily Mail, on the encounter with officers: “When she made contact with our officers, she argued with them about the legality of what she was doing.” That is a police account relayed through the press. It is not a judicial finding, and it should be read as the officers’ version of events.
Charges listed versus case outcome
A booking charge records what officers alleged at the time of arrest. It is not a conviction, and it does not show that a prosecutor pursued every count. The available reporting does not establish the final disposition of any of the three Alabama charges, so no outcome should be inferred from the booking record alone.

To find out how each charge was resolved, a reader would need the court file itself. The practical steps are:
- Contact the clerk of the court in Elmore County, Alabama, and ask for case records under the name Grace Kelley for an arrest dated April 5, 2024.
- Ask for the disposition of each charge separately, since indecent exposure, obstructing governmental operations, and soliciting prostitution can each end differently, including by dismissal, amendment, or plea.
- Confirm the case number on the file matches the Millbrook arrest before relying on it, because common names can produce unrelated matches.
A separate Virginia matter
Later reporting concerns a different case in a different state. Us Weekly, in a report by Paola Leva dated August 26, 2026, cited court documents it obtained and said Kelley was serving a 15-month sentence at Rockingham County Jail in Virginia. That sentence followed a guilty plea entered June 18, 2026, to felony driving with a suspended or revoked license. The outlet also reported that a judge denied a temporary furlough request for childbirth. These details are specific to the Virginia case and do not describe the April 2024 Alabama arrest.

- Shrink-wrapped
The Independent, in a report by Meredith Clark dated December 2, 2024, also reported a separate Virginia arrest. The available coverage does not establish whether that 2024 arrest is the same matter that led to the 2026 plea, and it does not give the charges from that arrest.
| Matter | Jurisdiction | Date | Reported status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Arrest in Millbrook, Alabama | Millbrook, Elmore County, Alabama | Booked April 5, 2024 | Three charges listed on the roster; final disposition not established in the available reporting |
| Separate Virginia arrest | Virginia; county not stated in the reporting reviewed | Reported December 2, 2024 (The Independent) | Charges and outcome not stated in the available reporting |
| Virginia guilty plea and sentence | Virginia; Rockingham County Jail | Plea June 18, 2026; reported August 26, 2026 (Us Weekly) | Guilty plea to felony driving with a suspended or revoked license; 15-month sentence reported; furlough request for childbirth denied, per Us Weekly citing court documents |
Wynonna Judd’s public comments
Wynonna Judd has spoken publicly about her daughter, but not about this arrest. In a February 2020 interview quoted by E! News, she said: “My daughter is the strongest Judd woman in our ‘herstory,'” she said. That remark predates the April 2024 arrest by more than four years and was not a response to it.

What remains unresolved
Three questions cannot be answered from the reporting that exists: how each Alabama charge was resolved, whether the 2024 Virginia arrest is connected to the 2026 Virginia case, and what the Alabama roadside encounter looks like in a court record rather than a police account. Each needs a primary court document. Until those are available, the accurate description of the April 2024 event is a booking with three listed charges, reported by the arresting department and the press.
The Millbrook Police Department and the Elmore County Sheriff’s Office are the agencies to ask for the booking information. The clerk of the court is the place to ask for case outcomes.
