Burning Man emergency personnel responded at 11:29 a.m. to a report of an unresponsive person and attempted lifesaving measures, according to the organizer’s statement reported by TIME. The Pershing County Sheriff’s Office was then notified, and deputies confirmed Frazer’s death. The Los Angeles Times reported that the department received a call about a possible death at 11:37 a.m.

What did authorities say about the cause?
On August 26, 2024, Sheriff Jerry Allen said Frazer’s cause and manner of death were still pending autopsy and toxicology screening. ABC News quoted the sheriff’s statement: “Her cause and manner of death are still pending results of an autopsy and toxicology screening.” Those reports described the status of the investigation at that time; they did not establish a final cause.

What did a later report say?
A September 4, 2026 report by the Reno Gazette Journal, republished by AOL, said Frazer died of an asthma attack in her sleep. The report is later than the initial 2024 coverage, but a primary medical-examiner determination or sheriff’s record confirming that finding is not available in the cited reporting. The cause should therefore be attributed to the later report rather than stated as an independently verified official finding.
