What did Wilmer Valderrama reveal before the finale?
Before the finale aired, Valderrama described a death that would be “earth-shattering and really heartbreaking,” involving “somebody very close to us,” according to TVLine’s May 1, 2025 report. That report said the death was not the case-of-the-week victim. A CBS News Boston listing confirms Valderrama discussed the finale with producer Lianne Zana, but the listing does not provide a transcript.

Who dies in the NCIS Season 22 finale?
Roman Parker, Alden Parker’s father, is found shot dead. In its May 5 post-finale report, TVLine notes that Carla Marino’s lipstick is visible on a wine glass near Roman’s body. The episode also ends with Jimmy Palmer telling Parker that something is wrong with the original death certificate for Parker’s mother.

Its synopsis sets the team against a dangerous connection between the Nexus cartel and Parker’s longtime nemesis, mob boss Carla Marino. The investigation involves stolen nuclear material, while Parker enters an uneasy alliance that could determine the operation’s outcome and his own future.

The murder makes the finale personal for Parker, but the showrunner did not present every thread as resolved. Steven D. Binder told TVLine that Roman was murdered by Parker’s longtime nemesis and discussed a possible tie between the murder and the mystery around Parker’s mother. Binder said the writers liked the idea and would work on it, while leaving open whether they would pursue that connection. The episode therefore raises a possible link; it does not confirm that the Lily mystery explains Roman’s murder.
