Christopher Levy, son of actor William Levy and Elizabeth Gutiérrez, underwent knee surgery after a golf cart overturned in Weston, Florida, in October 2020. This is a historical event, not a current story. Early reports said three knee procedures had been performed; a February 2021 follow-up reported four operations, including reconstruction, followed by months of therapy.
What was reported in October 2020
Univision reported that Christopher Levy, then 14, overturned a golf cart in Weston on October 4, 2020. According to that account, both knees were affected and he was taken to hospital by helicopter. The outlet said he was out of immediate danger and that two teenage girls with him were taken away by ambulance. These scene details come from the media report. They have not been checked against a police, fire-rescue or hospital record, and none is cited in the coverage.
The parents’ public message
On October 7 and 8, 2020, William Levy and Elizabeth Gutiérrez posted messages acknowledging the incident. Diario Libre reproduced the statement and a supportive post from Gutiérrez. The message thanked people who had prayed for their son and the other young people involved, but it did not describe the crash or the diagnosis.

Discharge and early recovery
Univision later reported, citing People en Español, that Christopher had been discharged and was recovering at home by October 12, 2020. That report covers his return home only. It does not describe the treatment that followed.

A Telemundo report published February 22, 2021, and updated April 29, 2021, gave the fullest recovery account in the coverage. Telemundo attributed the operation and recovery details to an interview William Levy gave to People en Español, as relayed by the magazine’s editor, Armando Correa. In that account, Christopher had undergone four knee operations, one of them reconstruction, and had completed four months of therapy. An estimated six more months were expected before he could return to baseball.

What the reports do not establish
- Current medical status. The coverage reviewed ends in 2021 and includes no later family update.
- A detailed crash account or diagnosis. The family statement offered neither, and no incident report is cited.
