No. Taylor Swift was not at the 2026 Grammys, and she was not nominated. The 68th Annual Grammy Awards were held February 1, 2026, so that ceremony is already in the past as of October 2026. Her album The Life of a Showgirl was left out because it was released after the eligibility window for that cycle had closed. The album’s release date, October 3, 2025, came about five weeks after the cutoff of August 30, 2025.
Was Taylor Swift at the 2026 Grammys?
Associated Press coverage published during the February 1, 2026 red carpet reported that Swift was absent from the ceremony. That is press reporting rather than an Academy record. The Recording Academy’s nominee announcements do not address attendance, and nothing in the ceremony coverage establishes why she stayed away, so this article does not offer a reason.

Why she was not nominated
Grammy nominations are limited to recordings released within a fixed eligibility period. For the 68th Annual Grammy Awards, the Recording Academy set that period as August 31, 2024 through August 30, 2025. A recording released after the end date could not be considered in that cycle.

Where The Life of a Showgirl falls
Marie Claire UK reported that The Life of a Showgirl and its first single were released on October 3, 2025. The publication date of that page could not be established, but the release date sits roughly five weeks past the 68th-cycle cutoff. That places the album outside the window, which is the main reason it could not be nominated in that cycle.

Eligibility is not the same as nomination
An eligible recording still has to be entered through the Academy’s Online Entry process. Entries then go to a first ballot, where voting members vote on recordings they believe should receive nominations. A release date inside a window shows that a recording could be considered. It does not show that the recording was submitted, shortlisted or nominated.

The next cycle is separate from the one that ended in February. The Recording Academy’s current FAQ says the 69th Annual Grammy Awards, held in 2027, cover recordings released from August 31, 2025 through August 28, 2026, with entries due August 21, 2026. The Life of a Showgirl’s October 3, 2025 release date falls inside that window. Both the entry deadline and the end of the window have passed as of this writing, and no public source confirms whether the album was entered.

How to check an album’s Grammy status
- Confirm the release date on the artist’s or label’s official channels, then compare it with the eligibility window for the cycle you are asking about.
- Read the Recording Academy’s current FAQ and key-dates page for that cycle, since windows and deadlines change from year to year.
- Wait for the official nominee list. A release inside the window alone does not mean a nomination.
