Will Arnett said he and his SmartLess co-hosts ended a recording with a “very famous comedian” after about ten minutes. He did not identify the guest publicly in the reported account, and the available coverage does not confirm who it was.
What Will Arnett said happened
Arnett recounted the incident during a January 26, 2026 appearance on The Romesh Ranganathan Show. He said the SmartLess hosts—Arnett, Jason Bateman and Sean Hayes—had recently recorded with a “very famous comedian,” but brought the conversation to an end after about ten minutes.
As Us Weekly reported, Arnett put it this way: “We cut him off after 10 minutes and said, ‘thanks so much,’ and ditched him.” Us Weekly and ComingSoon both report that he said he would tell Ranganathan the guest’s identity after the show, but neither report names the comedian.
Who was the comedian?
The identity has not been established by the reported appearance or the cited coverage. Arnett’s description—that the guest was a “very famous comedian”—is not enough to identify him, so any name circulating as a guess should not be treated as confirmed.

A separate story about a woman comedian
Arnett also described a different SmartLess interview: a woman comedian completed the conversation and then asked the hosts not to release it. He said she was up-and-coming and concerned that remarks might be misunderstood or taken out of context.
That is not the ten-minute incident. A later Pedestrian.TV report relayed an unconfirmed Deuxmoi guess about the woman’s identity, while making clear it was uncertain. That speculation does not identify the male comedian from the short recording.
