Did Turning Against Lisa Vanderpump Ruin Brandi Glanville’s Reality TV Career?

The feud with Lisa Vanderpump is documented, and so is Brandi Glanville's 2015 exit from full-time RHOBH. The record does not show the feud alone ruined her career.

The public record does not show that the feud with Lisa Vanderpump alone ruined Brandi Glanville’s reality TV career. What it does document is a friendship that collapsed in public by March 2014, a season of escalating conflict on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and Glanville’s June 2015 decision not to return as a full-time cast member. Her career did not end there. Since then she has worked as an author, a podcast host and a businesswoman, according to Bravo’s current cast profile. Whether the feud was a turning point depends on which accounts you accept and what you mean by “ruined,” and the coverage from the time supports only a narrower claim.

What the record establishes

Most of the confusion about this story comes from merging three separate things: a personal rupture, a set of on-air conflicts, and a casting outcome. Each has its own dates and its own sources, and they should be read separately.

Date Event Source and what it supports
March 27, 2014 Vanderpump says the friendship is over Bravo’s article quotes her directly. It shows the public split and Vanderpump’s account, not an independently verified finding.
Season five (2014 to 2015) Clashes with multiple castmates, including Vanderpump, and a slap that reignited the feud TheWrap’s June 18, 2015 report. It places the Vanderpump conflict among several tensions, not as the only one.
June 18, 2015 Glanville reported not to return as a regular for season six TheWrap. This is a press report of the casting decision, and it does not identify a single cause.
June 24, 2015 Glanville announces she will not return as a full-time cast member Bravo and ABC News both carry her statement. ABC reports she was open to returning as a guest.
Later years Author, podcast host, and seeking a more permanent career Bravo’s current cast profile. It documents continuing activity, not how well her television work has performed.

The 2014 rupture and the claims behind it

Bravo’s March 27, 2014 article reported that Vanderpump considered her friendship with Glanville permanently over. The network framed the break as the result of accumulating conflict over that season. Vanderpump’s words, as quoted in the piece, were: “Brandi has created so many lies. [Our friendship] is done. It was done six months ago.” The bracketed words are an editorial insertion in the original and should be kept if the sentence is quoted.

The dispute involved more than one grievance. Bravo described Glanville’s claims about Vanderpump and her husband, which Vanderpump denied. It also described Glanville’s objection to Vanderpump hiring Scheana, a SUR employee who had had an affair with Glanville’s former husband, Eddie Cibrian. Each of these is a claim made by one party or a point of contention between them. None is established as fact by the coverage itself, so readers should treat them as positions, not findings.

Season five and the slap

TheWrap’s June 2015 report described the later season-five fallout as involving several castmates, with the Vanderpump conflict among them. It said a slap reignited the feud between Glanville and Vanderpump. That detail matters because it shows the conflict was ongoing, not a single 2014 argument that ended everything. It also shows the tension was shared across the cast, which makes it harder to credit one relationship with the outcome.

The June 2015 departure: two accounts

Two sources describe what happened next, and they are not the same kind of evidence.

Glanville’s own statement

Glanville announced the decision in a statement published by Bravo on June 24, 2015. It read: “After a lot of careful thought and deliberation I have decided not to return to RHOBH as a full time cast member this season.” She described the past four years as “a complete roller coaster of a ride” and named her podcast, a wine business and a clothing line. The statement is her explanation, and it does not mention Vanderpump as the reason.

The press casting report

TheWrap’s June 18, 2015 report said Glanville would not return as a regular for season six, and linked that to the season-five clashes. A press report is useful for showing what was being reported at the time, but it is not a casting document. It reflects the cast tensions of that season, not a confirmed account of the decision-makers’ reasoning.

The gap between these accounts is the central point. Glanville describes a personal choice to step back from full-time work. The press describes a cast in conflict. Neither source establishes that the Vanderpump feud was the decisive factor.

Why “ruined” does not hold up

A claim that the feud ruined a career would need evidence of three things: that she lost work because of the feud, that the loss was lasting, and that no other factor explains it. The coverage from the period supports none of these in a testable form.

  • No offer data. Nothing in the available reporting shows which offers she received or declined after 2015.
  • No audience or performance figures. No ratings or audience measure for her individual career is published that would show her television value rising or falling.
  • Multiple causes on the record. The season-five conflicts involved several castmates, and her own statement cites podcast, wine and clothing projects that were already underway.
  • Continuing activity. Bravo’s current profile describes her as an author and podcast host and notes she was exploring another book. That is the opposite of a career that ended.

A fairer reading is that the feud was one visible strand in a period when Glanville was leaving full-time television and building other work. Whether that move helped or hurt her television prospects is a judgment the sources cannot settle.

What she has done since

Glanville’s memoir, Drinking and Tweeting: And Other Brandi Blunders, is identified as her memoir by ABC News, and TheWrap gives the full title. It is a first-person account and should be read as her version of events. Bravo’s profile also says she was exploring another book. For the show itself, Bravo states that The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills streams on Peacock. Catalog availability varies by season and region, so confirm the current listing before watching.

How to read the story

  • Treat March 2014 as the date the friendship publicly ended, with the claims on both sides attributed to their speakers.
  • Treat the season-five conflicts as multi-party, not a single feud.
  • Treat June 2015 as a documented decision to leave full-time status, not an exit from television.
  • Treat “ruined” as the headline’s interpretation. The sources support a timeline, not a causal verdict.

Read this way, the story is less about one falling out costing a career and more about a public, multi-sided conflict that ended one chapter of Glanville’s television work while her other projects continued.
