What the pins meant
The pins were a protest message, not simply red-carpet jewelry. Coverage describes two slogans in circulation at the event, “Be Good” and “ICE Out,” and presents the effort as a response to the deaths of Good and Porter and to federal immigration enforcement more broadly.
The wordplay is the key to the phrase. “Be Good” echoes Good’s surname. The organizers also used it as a general appeal: ordinary people caring for one another and taking civic action. In the organizers’ own framing, everyday acts such as keeping children safe on the walk to school, filming workplace detentions, and donating to groups that support immigrants are examples of people “being good.”
The FADER, which covered the campaign, described it as honoring Good and Porter and encouraging people to document abuses and support organizations that help immigrants. Those descriptions, like the campaign statements, reflect the organizers’ perspective rather than independent findings about the underlying cases.

Who organized and supported the campaign
The idea came from a late-night text exchange between Nelini Stamp of Working Families Power and Jess Morales Rocketto, executive director of Maremoto, according to AP. Stamp told AP: “There is a longstanding tradition of people who create art taking a stand for justice in moments. We’re going to continue that tradition.”
Several advocacy groups are named as part of the coalition. Use the following roles carefully, because the coverage describes them as supporters or participants rather than as the manufacturers of the pins:

The FADER also described entertainment-industry leaders as part of the effort. Variety listed the same advocacy groups as supporters. Neither report establishes which group produced or paid for the pins.
How the pins were distributed
AP reports that organizers and allies handed out pins at events and to neighbors who would be attending the ceremony. The reporting does not establish an official retail channel, so there is no confirmed way for readers to buy the pins from a store or online marketplace based on the coverage available. Readers should not assume that a pin of this design is sold through any particular seller.

The organizers’ claims
Some of the strongest language in the coverage comes from the campaign itself, reproduced by Variety. The organizers wrote that the Trump administration “has been stretching federal power to punish and intimidate communities, often by turning immigrants into scapegoats and using the Department of Homeland Security as the tip of the spear,” and that “ICE is not making our communities safer.”
The organizers also cited a figure of $100 million for a recruitment campaign aimed at expanding immigration enforcement capacity. That number is the organizers’ characterization. The coverage does not show that it was checked against a government budget or agency record, so it should be attributed to the campaign rather than presented as an established fact.
