In his own account, that feeling came from seeing Jenn’s earlier emotional connection with runner-up Marcus Shoberg play out on screen. He made the remark in an Instagram video posted September 10, 2024, one week after he and Jenn publicly discussed their split on the After the Final Rose special.
What “reaffirmed” meant
The word described a conclusion Devin said he reached by watching the season, not a new fact about the relationship. He had already decided to end the engagement, and the episodes made him feel that decision was correct. Us Weekly, which summarized and quoted the video, reports him saying:

Reporting from this period does not establish whether Jenn shares that characterization of the relationship.

How Jenn and Devin describe the breakup differently
The two accounts differ on how the split happened:
- Jenn’s account: Devin ended things in a brief phone call, and she said she felt blindsided.
- Devin’s account: He said he had tried to break up with her in person, and that circumstances led to a phone conversation instead.
Neither version has been independently confirmed, so both should be read as competing claims.

What the reporting does not establish
- Current status: The reports date from September 2024. They do not show whether Jenn and Devin are together, apart, or otherwise in touch as of October 2026.
- Exact breakup date: “Early August” is the reported timing. Jenn’s own estimate, about a month before September 3, is the basis for it, and no separate timestamp has been published.
- Motive: Devin’s explanation is his own interpretation of his feelings. It is not a finding about what either person was thinking at the time.
