The most-subscribed channel ranked in India in October 2026 is T-Series, with 315 million subscribers in both FameLifter’s October 5, 2026 snapshot and Social Blade’s India subscriber ranking (accessed October 8, 2026). Those are rounded figures shown by third-party ranking sites, not official YouTube totals or a live count.
The title’s word “YouTuber” needs a qualification. T-Series is a music and film media company, not an individual creator. The sources reviewed do not establish a definitive current number-one individual creator in India, so this article separates the two questions.
The direct answer and what it measures
If you rank channels ranked in India by total subscribers, T-Series leads, followed by SET India at 190 million and Zee Music Company at 123 million. Both all-channel lists put these three channels in the same order, which is the clearest evidence available for “largest.”
Subscriber rank does not measure quality, earnings, views, or influence. It is a count of subscribers at a point in time, and it favours channels that have accumulated audiences over decades.

The top of the subscriber rankings
The table below compares the leading channels across the three ranking sources that reported them. Each source uses its own method and snapshot date, so read each column on its own terms.
| Channel | FameLifter, October 5, 2026 (all channels) | Social Blade India ranking, accessed October 8, 2026 | Channellytics chart of channels behind popular videos in India, October 2, 2026 (18:00 UTC) |
|---|---|---|---|
| T-Series | 315 million (rank 1) | 315 million (rank 1) | Not stated by Channellytics |
| SET India | 190 million (rank 2) | 190 million (rank 2) | Not stated by Channellytics |
| Zee Music Company | 123 million (rank 3) | 123 million (rank 3) | 123 million, listed first in its India ranking |
FameLifter states that its lists are built from YouTube Data API data and ranking snapshots, refreshed daily, and last updated on October 5, 2026. Social Blade explicitly orders its India list by subscribers.
Rank #2
Why a second chart puts Zee Music Company first
Channellytics publishes a chart of channels behind videos that are currently popular in India, refreshed every 12 hours. On October 2, 2026 at 18:00 UTC, its most-subscribed India ranking listed Zee Music Company first at 123 million.
That result does not contradict the all-channel leaderboard. Channellytics draws from its own set of channels, tied to currently popular videos, so its ranking is a different population. Keep it separate from the subscriber leaderboard rather than merging the two.
Rank #3
Why music labels dominate the top
Three of the top channels are music labels, which raises a natural question: why do they have such large audiences? Channellytics offers one explanation. It says music labels may build large audiences from decades of film-music catalogues across multiple language industries, and that Hindi has the widest single reach while substantial regional-language industries also exist.
This is Channellytics’s explanation, not a measured breakdown of how much each factor contributes. No source reviewed quantifies it.
Rank #4
Is there a top individual creator?
The sources do not establish one. Social Blade’s overall list places Total Gaming 37th and CarryMinati 38th, but that list mixes companies and individuals, so those positions do not answer an individual-only question.
An individual-creator ranking would need its own filter, a stated snapshot date, and a stated method. None was available in the sources reviewed.

How to read these numbers
- Check the criterion. “Most-subscribed” and “most popular right now” are different rankings. Channellytics reports that its popular-video chart can differ from a subscriber total.
- Check the date. The figures above are dated snapshots: October 2, October 5, and October 8, 2026. Counts change.
- Expect rounding. Channellytics reports that YouTube rounds subscriber counts to three significant figures, so small differences between sites may reflect rounding or timing rather than real gaps.
- Expect movement. Channellytics says its charts change as channels enter and leave the ranking.
- Do not stretch the meaning. A subscriber lead does not tell you which channel has the best content, the highest earnings, or the most influence.
What these sources cannot show
YouTube’s official API does not reveal the full set of channels or historical subscriber counts. That limits how far anyone can rebuild a complete ranking over time from official data alone. A TubeCensus paper describes building such a dataset from Internet Archive captures as an alternative approach.
Statista’s July 2026 chart also identifies T-Series as the leading Indian channel. The exact figure was not visible in the accessible page content, so this article does not rely on it for a precise count.
