ABC News reported that the two were introduced on a blind date arranged by a mutual friend. Its January 2018 report said they had been dating for about two years, that McVey proposed, and that the couple became engaged that month. They married on September 1, 2018, in Vail, Colorado. A Markets Media interview published August 19, 2026, titled “Final Word: Rick McVey on MarketAxess’ Journey,” offers the most recent first-person account of his life after the company. According to the interview, McVey:
