Stanfield and Trice have said they want to keep parts of family life private. As quoted by the Los Angeles Times from their People interview, Stanfield said, “We want to be the ones to tell our story,” and added, “There needs to be things that exist that are sacred and not for consumption for everybody.” Trice said, “We decided early on we wanted to protect our baby as much as we can for as long as possible.”
The couple did not disclose their child’s name or sex in that announcement. Their stated wish to protect the child’s privacy is why those details should not be assumed or filled in from unverified claims.

A November 2025 Vanity Fair profile describes Stanfield as having three children, including a new baby with his wife, Kasmere Trice. The couple’s July 2023 announcement specifically concerned their first child together; it does not establish that all of Stanfield’s children are shared with Trice.
