Cass Bird is a photographer whose work and creative relationships are central to her public profile. In an October 17, 2024 conversation for Interview, Lyons spoke with Bird about Bird’s photographs of Lyons and artist K8 Hardy. The magazine described Bird and Hardy’s creative relationship as dating to 1997; Hardy recalled Bird photographing her at Smith College that year.
Bird has also photographed Lyons. In a 2024 Bravo interview, Lyons described Bird as “adorable and fun,” and said she preferred to stay behind the camera. That preference helps explain why coverage of the couple often draws on Lyons’s public comments rather than Bird’s appearances on reality television.
How Jenna Lyons and Cass Bird met
Bravo reported in September 2023 that the two met at a friend’s home in Brooklyn, after both had ended previous relationships. The account relayed Bird’s description of their first meeting: “It was laugh-y and silly.” That is a snapshot of how the meeting was described at the time, not a basis for speculation about either person’s private life.

Lyons had made the relationship public that summer, according to the same Bravo report. Vogue’s October 2023 coverage also described the romance as thriving and showed Bird joining a remote conversation with Lyons.
When did they get engaged?
Lyons confirmed the engagement during Season 15, Episode 4 of The Real Housewives of New York City. Bravo reported the confirmation on October 22, 2024. Lyons said, “We were trying to keep it low-profile.” The same coverage recounted a coy remark from Lyons suggesting she might already have married Bird, but that exchange does not verify a wedding.

As of the latest cited reports, no wedding date, venue, or direct confirmation of a marriage is established. The reporting also does not establish a later change in their relationship status.

Bird’s photography is the clearest professional focus in the available coverage. The Interview conversation with Lyons and Hardy offers examples of her work and a glimpse of her long-running creative connection with Hardy. It also noted that two Bird prints had gone live on Phillips Dropshop on October 17, 2024; that dated mention does not establish whether the prints remain available.
