Flynn Earl Jones is the son of actor James Earl Jones and actress Cecilia Hart. The documented work he has done is audiobook narration, and in 2014 contemporary profiles described him as working as his father’s assistant. Published sources do not establish what he does today.
Who Flynn Earl Jones is
Flynn is the son of James Earl Jones, the veteran actor whose screen and stage career spanned decades, and of actress Cecilia Hart. Two official sources confirm the parent-child relationship. A 2024 U.S. Senate resolution, printed in the Congressional Record, names the family relationship. Lucasfilm’s memorial page for James Earl Jones, dated September 9, 2024, also refers to Flynn as his son, in a tribute from filmmaker and Lucasfilm founder George Lucas: “He gave depth, sincerity and meaning to all his roles, amongst the most important being devoted husband to the late Ceci and dad to Flynn.” The memorial is published on starwars.com.
What Flynn has done professionally
Two kinds of professional activity are documented for Flynn. They come from different periods and different kinds of source, so they should be read separately.
Assistant to his father (reported in 2014)
Two profiles published in 2014 describe Flynn working alongside his father as his assistant. The first is a CBS News profile tied to James Earl Jones’s role in a stage production; the second is a Washington Post profile from September 25, 2014. Both reports describe the role as it stood at that time. Neither establishes that Flynn held the same job later, and the assistant role should be read as a 2014 arrangement rather than a current position.

Audiobook narrator
Audible’s own catalog pages credit Flynn as a narrator on two audiobooks. These are digital audiobook listings, not evidence of physical editions, and the dates shown are those of the listed production or release.

Because the credits are listed on Audible, they show that Flynn has performed narration for those titles. They do not establish how many audiobooks he has narrated overall, and a narrator’s credit on one title does not describe a full body of work.

What the sources do not establish
The published record is thin beyond the points above. The sources reviewed do not establish Flynn’s present occupation, and they offer no detailed public biography. Personal details such as age, residence, and finances are not covered by these sources, so this article does not state them. Any claim about his current work would go beyond the evidence.

James Earl Jones is widely known for playing Darth Vader in the Star Wars films and Mufasa in Disney’s The Lion King. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ honoree biography documents those roles as his. It does not attribute them to Flynn, and Flynn is not known to have voiced either character. Searches for Flynn’s name alongside those roles often return James’s work, so readers should check the credit before assuming a connection.
