The father of January Jones’s son has not been publicly identified in the reporting reviewed. Jones has said the matter is private: “That’s my son’s business,” she told the New York Times in 2013. “It’s not the public’s business.”
Who is the father of January Jones’s son?
No confirmed name has been made public in the reporting reviewed. E! News reported on July 30, 2025, that Jones had never revealed the biological father’s identity. That describes the latest located coverage, not proof that she has made no statement since.
Jones’s own explanation is straightforward: in 2013, she said the identity was her son’s business, not the public’s. She also remarked, “Women should have lots of secrets. It’s our right to have secrets. Otherwise, what would we write in our memoirs?” The Los Angeles Times and Us Weekly attributed those comments to her.
What is known about her son
Jones’s son is Xander Dane Jones. Inside Edition reported in 2011 that he was born on September 13, 2011, in Santa Monica. Inside Edition also said a birth certificate it obtained left the father’s name blank; this is the outlet’s account of the document, not an independent examination of an official vital record.

What about the names in fan rumors?
Rumors reported in 2011 named Matthew Vaughn, Jason Sudeikis, and Xander Berkeley. Inside Edition reported that Vaughn denied being the father. The Los Angeles Times also described speculation about Sudeikis and Vaughn in 2013, without confirming either as Xander’s father.
Those names are part of historical speculation, not established paternity. Repetition of a rumor or a fan theory does not turn it into evidence, and none of the reporting cited here identifies a confirmed father.
