Judy Spera is the daughter of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. She is married to Tony Spera, and the two are named co-directors of the New England Society for Psychic Research (NESPR), the organization the Warrens built. Her public role is mainly organizational: she helps run NESPR and preserves the couple’s case files. She has also spoken publicly about her parents, though those remarks date from 2020 and should be read as a snapshot of that time.
Who Judy Spera is in the Warren family
Hearst Connecticut Media’s 2021 illustrated history of the Warrens reports that Judy was the couple’s only child and gives her birth year as 1951. That birth year comes from a local-history article, not from NESPR’s own materials, so it is best attributed to that outlet rather than stated as an organizational fact.

Her role at NESPR
NESPR lists Judy as a co-director. In its profile of her, the organization describes her this way:
“Rather, she serves as our voice of reason, offering useful insights into methods and techniques we employ while performing our investigations.”

That sentence is NESPR speaking about her, not Judy speaking in her own voice. It describes her contribution in the organization’s own terms and is not an independent assessment of her work.
Hearst Connecticut Media’s account adds a second role: Judy and Tony co-direct NESPR and preserve the Warrens’ case-file archive. Together, the two descriptions place Judy in the operational and archival side of the organization, not in a public-facing investigator role on the record.

Her marriage to Tony Spera
Esquire’s 2025 feature reports that Tony met Judy in September 1979, when he was working as a Connecticut police officer. That is a detail about how they met. It does not give a wedding date, and no reviewed source supplies one.
What Judy has said publicly
The most direct record of Judy’s own views is a 2020 interview with ComicBook.com. In it she discussed her parents’ legacy, the Warren museum, the documentary Devil’s Road: The True Story of Ed and Lorraine Warren, and rumors about the Annabelle doll. Three points from that interview matter for readers.
Rank #3
- The museum. Asked whether the family planned to reopen or relocate the museum, she answered: “We do plan to do that, to look for a place.” That was a plan as of 2020. It is not a statement about the museum’s status today.
- Annabelle’s location. She declined to say where the doll is kept. Her message was that the family’s priority was the doll’s safety: “So to anyone reading, what’s important is that Annabelle is safe and fans shouldn’t come looking for her, because she’s safe somewhere and that’s all that matters.”
- Visitors and rumors. She described people contacting the family with questions such as “Is it true that Annabelle escaped?” and said the disturbance caused by people seeking the Warrens’ home had affected neighbors and residents. The interview documents that wording and that concern; it does not measure how widespread the rumor is.
Because these remarks are from 2020, they do not tell you where Annabelle is now, whether the museum has reopened, or whether any plan discussed then went ahead.

What the sources do not establish
- Her full private biography, education, or a complete career timeline.
- Whether she has written a memoir. None of the reviewed sources mentions one.
- Current museum access, or whether a new location has been found.
- Annabelle’s current location.
- Where the documentary Devil’s Road or the Conjuring films can be streamed now. Availability changes, so check a current listing before watching.
The accounts of psychic ability, haunted objects, and supernatural events in this story come from NESPR and from other named speakers. They are claims made by those people, not findings that have been independently verified.

Further reading on the Warrens
For background on Ed and Lorraine rather than on Judy, Esquire’s feature names The Demonologist by Gerald Brittle. It is a book about the Warrens, not a biography of Judy Spera. Confirm the edition and current availability before buying.
