How the criminal case moved from charges to sentence
The early charges and the final outcome are different things, and readers often conflate them. The case moved through three distinct stages.
- Initial charges. The March 2025 charges, solicitation to commit murder and conspiracy to commit murder, were allegations at that point. Nothing had been adjudicated.
- Guilty plea. Victoria pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit murder. Prosecutors dropped the solicitation charge as part of that agreement, so the conviction rests on the conspiracy count alone.
- Sentence. The sentence is reported as a range: a minimum of three years and a maximum of seven and a half years. The sources reviewed do not explain how the range will be applied in practice, so avoid stating a release date.
Because the plea resolved the case, the more detailed allegations from March 2025 should be described as what authorities alleged, not as facts the court found.

The alleged plan as described in court-related reporting
Court TV’s March 2025 account said authorities tied the investigation to communications with Florida inmate Grant Amato. It described an offer of more than $11,500 and a plan timed to October 2024, when Aaron was filming in California. These details come from authorities’ account in that report, not from a trial.
Sentencing coverage refers to larger amounts that prosecutors said were sent. The sources reviewed do not give a single consolidated total, so the $11,500 figure should not be presented as the full sum. Motive is also not established as fact in the reviewed sources. Where reporting discusses why the plan was allegedly made, it should be attributed to prosecutors or the outlet reporting their claims.
What was said at sentencing
Courthouse News Service reported the following statements from the April 23, 2025 hearing:
- Aaron Goodwin told the court: “I can’t trust anything anymore.”
- Victoria Goodwin, speaking to Judge Nadia Krall, said: “This is my rock bottom.”
- Deputy District Attorney Christopher Hamner told the judge: “When you look at the facts of the case, they are serious.”
Are Aaron and Victoria Goodwin still married?
Aaron filed for divorce on March 12, 2025. The Our Nevada Judges docket coverage page, accessed October 8, 2026, lists a divorce status check on July 21, 2026 and a bench-trial calendar entry for November 23, 2026. Neither entry is a final decree, and the reviewed material does not show whether one has been entered. Until the current Clark County docket confirms a decree, describe them as separated and in a pending divorce, using “estranged wife” or “wife” rather than “ex-wife.” The bench-trial date should be reported as scheduled, not as an outcome.

- Sentence administration. The sources state the range but not how it will be served.
- Total money involved. The March 2025 figure is an allegation from that report, and sentencing coverage refers to larger amounts without a consolidated total.
- Personal background. No reliable biography of Victoria Goodwin beyond the marriage and the case was found in the reviewed sources.
Court TV’s March 2025 report is an early account and frames the criminal details as allegations. Courthouse News Service’s April 2025 sentencing coverage is the most court-focused report on the plea and sentence. A&E’s December 2025 retrospective, updated July 16, 2026, is useful for sequence but relies on the same court record.
