Universal Music Brasil announced on 19 May 2023 that he had signed with Universal Music for forthcoming projects, introducing his first original release, “Maria.” The announcement confirms a signing reported at that time; it does not establish whether his contract remains active today.
How Chady first drew attention
Before “Maria,” Chady gained visibility online by posting cover performances. Universal Music Brasil said in May 2023 that covers of Marina Sena’s “Por Supuesto,” Gloria Groove’s “A Tua Voz” and Legião Urbana’s “Tempo Perdido” had helped him attract attention. The label reported more than 2.9 million combined views across his social networks at the time; that is a historical figure, not a current audience total.

What “Maria” marked in his career
Universal described “Maria” as Chady’s first original project: a pop song with rock influences, released alongside an official video. Chady co-wrote it with Arthur Marques, Aya and Rafael Picolli; Picolli also produced the track. The label’s artist page indexes its dated announcements about his subsequent releases.
His sound and influences
A profile published by Mundo da Música on 17 August 2023 described Chady’s sound as pop with rock and indie references. It reported influences including Lenny Kravitz, Barão Vermelho, Elvis Presley and Marina Sena. Chady told the publication: “O meu som tem essa pegada mais nostálgica, eu gosto de falar de amor e não tenho medo de mostrar que sou emocionado.” In English translation: “My sound has this more nostalgic feel; I like talking about love and I’m not afraid to show that I’m emotional.”

Releases after the signing announcement
Universal Music Brasil’s later coverage identifies the EP Futuro Caso Antigo, announced in October 2023, and the single “Recomeçar,” announced in November 2024. These dated releases show activity after the initial announcement, but do not confirm Chady’s present contractual status with the label.

What is known—and what is not
- Origin: Universal Music Brasil described Chady as a singer from Rio de Janeiro and called him 24 in its May 2023 announcement. Mundo da Música later described him as 25. These are ages reported at publication time, not a verified current age.
- Signing: The label said on 19 May 2023 that Chady had signed with Universal Music “para os projetos que estão por vir” (“for projects to come”). The announcement is evidence of a reported signing then, not proof of a current contract.
- Catalog attribution: Music services can show listings for artists with the same name. Releases on a separate-looking listing should not be attributed to this Brazilian singer without confirmation from a reliable primary source.
