Several characters from Young Sheldon appear in The Big Bang Theory, but in different ways: Meemaw is played by a different actor, Tam has an episode associated with him, and young Sheldon, George, and Georgie appear in family footage. The clearest episode pointers are “The Meemaw Materialization” (Season 9, Episode 14), “The Tam Turbulence” (Season 12, Episode 4), and “The VCR Illumination” (Season 12, Episode 10). This is a guide to notable connections, not a verified list of every brief, archival, voice-only, or mentioned character.

How the crossover appearances differ
Meemaw is the clearest older-character connection
Meemaw is the character to look for if you mean a member of the Cooper family’s world who appears as an older character in The Big Bang Theory. The role is recast: June Squibb plays her there, while Annie Potts plays her in Young Sheldon.
Young Sheldon, George, and Georgie appear in younger-character footage
TheWrap’s crossover report names Iain Armitage, Lance Barber, and Montana Jordan as appearing as their Young Sheldon characters. Their pointer is “The VCR Illumination,” rather than a present-day scene with the younger characters continuing into the adult sitcom’s timeline.
#1 Best Overall
Tam has a named episode pointer
“The Tam Turbulence” (Season 12, Episode 4) is the relevant episode-guide entry for Tam. The episode title and listing are useful for locating the connection, but they do not by themselves establish a fuller character history or scene description.
Why Lance Barber’s other role can cause confusion
Lance Barber also played Jimmy Speckerman, a different character in The Big Bang Theory. That earlier casting does not mean George Cooper appeared in that role. Barber’s George connection is the younger-character footage reported for “The VCR Illumination.” TheWrap’s crossover report identifies the performers in that context; the character reference also distinguishes Barber’s roles.

Do not confuse this with the Young Sheldon finale
The direction of the crossover matters. In the Young Sheldon finale, Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik reprised their adult roles as Sheldon Cooper and Amy Farrah Fowler. Those are The Big Bang Theory actors and characters appearing on Young Sheldon—the reverse of the question here. Warner Bros. Television Group’s announcement confirms that finale appearance.
