That is a dated status update, not confirmation of his situation today. The available reporting does not establish whether the Supreme Court has issued a decision after 3 May 2026. It would therefore be inaccurate to say that he is currently in prison, or that his conviction is final, on the basis of that report alone.
What was the sentence and appeal about?
El País reported on 12 February 2025 that Spain’s Audiencia Nacional sentenced Blanco Vela to nine years in prison for sexual assaults against three foreign students. Its account placed incidents in Morocco in November 2013 and Portugal in May 2017. Telecinco’s 3 May 2026 report said the sentence was under appeal before the Supreme Court and was not final then.

A separate Telecinco report dated 1 April 2026 said he was barred from working as a tourist guide, subject to supervised release, and jointly responsible for compensation obligations. Those conditions were reported before the 3 May update, which did not restate them; the available information does not confirm whether they changed afterward.
How is the Lauren Bajorek case different?
The civil case concerning Lauren Bajorek is separate from the criminal conviction for sexual assaults. Telecinco reported on 3 May 2026 that a civil court had ordered compensation of more than €70,000 over the condition of a terrace, and that a separate appeal was pending. This civil dispute does not establish where Blanco Vela lives or whether he is serving the prison sentence.

A correction published by Málaga Hoy on 19 March 2026 recorded Blanco Vela’s position that the criminal proceedings concerning Bajorek’s death had been archived as an accidental death; it also said the civil judgment was under appeal. That characterization should be understood as his stated position as recorded in the correction, not as a finding about the separate sexual-assault case.
| Proceeding | Issue | Last reported status |
|---|---|---|
| Criminal case reported by El País and Telecinco | Sexual assaults against three foreign students | Nine-year sentence reported in February 2025; appeal pending and Blanco Vela provisionally at liberty as of Telecinco’s 3 May 2026 report |
| Civil case concerning Lauren Bajorek | Compensation over the terrace’s condition | More than €70,000 ordered, with a separate appeal pending, according to Telecinco on 3 May 2026 |
Is his current address known?
No precise current residence is established in the available reports. Blanco Vela was associated with Discover Excursions, a travel agency based in Seville, according to El País and Telecinco. Telecinco reported that the business website later closed, but that does not establish his present location.

Telecinco also reported that more than 50 women from different countries had made claims, while noting that most accounts had not reached court. That figure describes reported claims, not a number of cases proven in court, and it should not be confused with the three students cited in the reported criminal sentence.
