Amber Frey is described in the latest located profile, published by A&E in July 2026, as living a largely private life. That profile does not identify her current city or occupation. Older reports placed her in Fresno and described her work in the spa business, but they do not establish what she does or where she lives today.

What is known about Amber Frey now?

The clearest recent description comes from A&E’s profile, published July 13, 2026 and updated July 16, 2026: Frey largely keeps her life private. It does not provide a present-day city, job, or detailed family update. There is therefore no sound basis in the available recent reporting to say that she currently lives in Fresno or works as a massage therapist.

Those details come from older coverage. ABC News reported in 2007 that Frey lived in central California and had opened a day spa. CBS News reported in 2008 that she owned The Escape Day Spa in Fresno. These are dated snapshots, not confirmation of her current residence or work.

How Amber Frey became involved in the case

Frey met Scott Peterson through a mutual friend in November 2002. According to A&E, Peterson told her he was unmarried and sought a relationship. On December 24, 2002, his pregnant wife, Laci Peterson, disappeared from her home in Modesto.

After a friend showed Frey news coverage of Laci’s disappearance, she recognized Peterson. Frey contacted police on December 30, 2002, and agreed to help investigators by recording later conversations. Her cooperation became public through the investigation and trial.

Her role at Scott Peterson’s trial

Frey testified at Peterson’s 2004 murder trial, where jurors heard portions of the recordings. Peterson was convicted in November 2004 of first-degree murder of Laci and second-degree murder of their unborn son, Conner. A&E notes that Frey’s testimony was one part of the broader case; it should not be treated as the sole basis for the conviction.

What Frey did after the trial

Memoir

In 2005, Frey published Witness: For the Prosecution of Scott Peterson, an account of her involvement in the case. The book’s title and publication year are documented by A&E and Oxygen.

Documentary coverage

In August 2024, Oxygen covered Frey in connection with the docuseries Face to Face with Scott Peterson. Oxygen reported that it was scheduled to begin streaming on Peacock on August 20, 2024; that historical schedule does not confirm whether the series is available there now.

In the same article, Oxygen quoted Frey recalling her reaction when she recognized Peterson in the news: “I was in shock,” Frey said. “I was crying. I have no idea how long. I was just trembling, and I was like, ‘It is him.’”

Oxygen also reproduced a statement attributed to Frey through her lawyer to Fox News about the possibility of testifying again. It is a statement relayed through counsel, rather than a direct interview: “I would have been willing to testify again,” Frey said in a statement through her lawyer to Fox News. “However, I am relieved that my testimony will not be necessary. If I were called to testify, I would give truthful testimony again, for the truth doesn’t change over time.”

What remains unconfirmed

Recent coverage supports a limited answer: Frey keeps a largely private life. It does not establish her current address, occupation, marital status, or family details. Her reported Fresno spa work belongs to 2007–2008 coverage, and should not be presented as a current biography.
