The finale jumps decades ahead to show what becomes of the Kents and their Smallville circle: Clark and Lois share a long life, Jonathan and Jordan carry on as heroes, and their friends reach distinct milestones in love, family, and leaving town.
What happens to Clark and Lois?
After surviving the final conflict, Clark spends decades with Lois. As they grow old, his human heart eventually weakens and he dies peacefully. Lois dies before him, and the finale’s afterlife coda reunites them.
The episode’s long flash-forward makes their ending a life shared beyond the immediate battle, rather than a sudden loss at the climax. TheWrap’s December 2, 2024, report includes co-showrunner Todd Helbing’s explanation of the ending: TheWrap’s finale report.
What becomes of Jonathan and Jordan?
The brothers appear as adults, still working as heroes and wearing suits. Natalie fights alongside them, showing that the next generation continues the family’s heroic work.

“It Went By So Fast” is the series finale: Season 4, Episode 10. It is not the Season 3 finale, “What Kills You Only Makes You Stronger.” The CW’s episode listing identifies the latter as the Season 3 finale: The CW Press episode listing.
The cited finale coverage confirms the central outcomes above, but does not establish a complete future for every minor character. Where the ending leaves a future unspecified, there is no need to fill it in with speculation.
