Advance tickets for Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning were announced to go on sale on Monday, April 28, 2025, ahead of the film’s U.S. theatrical release on Friday, May 23, 2025. Both dates are in the past, so the useful question now is how the sale worked and why a single date did not guarantee the same experience everywhere.
The announced sale date and the release date
Two dates answer most versions of this question, and they are easy to confuse:
| Milestone | Date | What it refers to | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Advance ticket sale announced | Monday, April 28, 2025 | Start of advance ticket sales for the film in the U.S. as reported at the time | ComicBookMovie report dated April 24, 2025, citing Paramount’s announcement |
| U.S. theatrical release | Friday, May 23, 2025 | Premiere date listed on Paramount’s official title page and on Fandango’s film listing | Paramount Global Content title page; Fandango |
| Paramount+ streaming start (U.S. and Canada) | December 4, 2025 | Later home-viewing availability, announced by Paramount Press Express | Paramount Press Express |
The sale date came from Paramount’s announcement as reported by ComicBookMovie on April 24, 2025. That report is secondary coverage rather than a studio press release, so treat April 28 as the widely reported sale date rather than a date confirmed by a primary document.
Why one date does not mean one start time
The April 28 date is confirmed for the U.S. at the level of the announcement, but no universal opening time for all sales has been established. Individual theaters set their own booking schedules, and a theater-specific notice should not be read as a national rule. As an example, BigScreen.com, a theater-industry publication, reported that advance reservations for the film at Phoenix Theatres’ new Clarksville location would begin on Monday, April 28. That notice corroborates the date for that one venue; it does not show when other chains or other cities opened sales.

Ticket listings are also local. Fandango’s page for the film displays a location-based ticket alert, so the showtimes and purchase options you see depend on your ZIP code and the theaters near you.
What the date does not establish
- Other countries. The April 28 sale date is reported for the U.S. Sale timing in other territories was not established by these sources, so do not assume the same date applied worldwide.
- Exact opening hour. No single time of day shared by every theater or ticketing platform is documented.
- Early or preview screenings. A local theater’s early listing is not the same as the national release date.
Checking historical sale details yourself
If you are trying to confirm how sales opened at a specific theater in 2025, the most reliable route is the theater’s own announcement page or its ticketing account history, which records purchase dates. Film pages on Paramount’s official site and on Fandango give the release date but do not list sale-opening times for every location.

Streaming after the theatrical run
Paramount announced that the film would begin streaming on Paramount+ in the U.S. and Canada on December 4, 2025. That date applies only to those two territories and does not change the theatrical sale history above.
