The best-supported identification is “Echoes” by The Rapture. If you mean the song immediately before the Biggie track “Big Poppa,” soundtrack guides associate “Echoes” with Seth dancing at a house party.
Which Superbad party song is it?
It is “Echoes” by The Rapture, according to soundtrack guides that place it before “Big Poppa” and identify it with the scene of Seth dancing. A matching forum question describes the clue as the song “right before the Biggie song.”

Why the scene clue matters
Superbad has multiple party scenes, and several songs appear around them. “Big Poppa” is associated with the party where the characters are stealing liquor; “Echoes” is associated with Seth dancing. A general reference to “the house-party song” could therefore point to a different cue.
- “Stranglehold” by Ted Nugent plays as Seth and Evan first enter the coke-heads’ house.
- “These Eyes” is the song Evan sings at the party.
- “Pork and Beef” by The Coup accompanies the cop dancing.
- “Capital S.A.” plays as Seth carries Evan out.
How certain is the identification?
SoundtrackINFO and Whatsong both associate “Echoes” with Seth dancing, while SoundtrackINFO places it before “Big Poppa.” These are secondary soundtrack guides, not official production credits. The matching forum post helps clarify which moment the question means, but it is user-generated rather than an authoritative music credit.
Recommended Free Tools
The screenplay describes Seth entering a room where people are dancing to hip-hop, but it does not name the licensed recording. No official cue sheet or rights-holder statement confirming this particular cue is established by the available sources. So “Echoes” is the best-supported answer, not an officially verified production credit.
