What is known about Baker’s background?
The obituary says Baker was a U.S. Army veteran who served in the First Gulf War and later in Macedonia and Bosnia, and that he received the Bronze Star with Valor. It names Michelle as his wife and lists his children and service dog, Honor. The notice is from 2015 and does not establish the family’s current circumstances.
WYFF’s contemporaneous report attributed statements about PTSD and a VA referral to the service-dog agency and family. Those are reported claims, not a medical-record diagnosis, and the available reporting does not establish that PTSD caused the incident.
