It’s a joke, not a new Trump statement: Bad Lip Reading’s “INAUGURATION DAY” — A Bad Lip Reading of Donald Trump’s Inauguration is a comedy dub of the 2017 inauguration, published January 25, 2017. Its dialogue is invented for the parody, not a transcript or verified lip-reading. Watch the video on Bad Lip Reading’s official YouTube channel.
What happens in the video?
The parody opens with Donald and Melania Trump greeting Barack and Michelle Obama. In the invented dialogue, Melania offers Michelle pretzels. The video then cuts to inauguration footage featuring George W. Bush and Hillary Clinton, moves through the swearing-in sequence, and ends with Trump and Melania dancing at the inaugural ball. GeekWire’s January 25, 2017 account describes these scenes and jokes.

One example of the dub’s absurd tone is a line in which Trump says he will need Melania to “scrape my bunions” as they dance. That is a fictional joke written for the video, not something Trump is documented as saying.
Are the dubbed lines real?
No. Bad Lip Reading’s official description jokes that “Politicians CAN say what they’re actually thinking…” The creator’s framing is comic, not a claim that the audio reveals what anyone actually said. TIME likewise described the upload as a “comedic and fictitious lip reading” of the ceremony. The Top Viral YouTube Videos of 2017.
