The 2026 Golden Globes ceremony began at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time (5:00 p.m. Pacific Time) on Sunday, January 11, 2026. The event was the 83rd Annual Golden Globes, and its scheduled three-hour telecast ran until 11:00 p.m. ET (8:00 p.m. PT). The ceremony is now over, so this guide covers what happened and how viewers could watch it, along with the date of the next ceremony.

Start time by time zone

The broadcast window was set in Eastern Time and Pacific Time, which are the two times the organizers published. The other U.S. zones below are straight conversions from Eastern Time for the January date, when standard time applied.

Time zone Start Scheduled end
Eastern (ET) 8:00 p.m. 11:00 p.m.
Central (CT) 7:00 p.m. 10:00 p.m.
Mountain (MT) 6:00 p.m. 9:00 p.m.
Pacific (PT) 5:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m.
Alaska (AKST) 4:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m.
Hawaii (HST) 3:00 p.m. 6:00 p.m.

The start and end times above are the scheduled telecast window. Live broadcasts can run past their listed end time, so viewers who need an exact moment should use the network’s live feed rather than the schedule alone.

Where the ceremony aired

The ceremony was broadcast live from the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California, and hosted by Nikki Glaser. The official CBS and Golden Globes announcement, made April 24, 2025, said the show would “air Sunday, January 11, 2026 (8:00-11:00 PM, live ET/5:00-8:00 PM, live PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ in the U.S.” That statement came from the organizations rather than a named spokesperson.

The Golden Globes’ own FAQ confirmed the same live broadcast on CBS and streaming on Paramount+ and said results would be posted on the Golden Globes website and social channels.

How Paramount+ access worked for this event

The streaming terms below describe the 2026 ceremony only. Paramount+ plan names, prices, and live-access rules change over time, so check the current terms before relying on them.

  • Paramount+ with SHOWTIME: Subscribers could stream the ceremony live through the live feed of their local CBS affiliate on the service, and could also watch on demand.
  • Paramount+ Essential: Subscribers did not get live access. The special was available on demand the day after it aired.

Watching over the air

Paramount’s viewing guide for the event listed cable, satellite, or a digital TV antenna as ways to receive the traditional CBS broadcast. An antenna works only where local CBS signals are strong enough to reach the receiver, so check your address against an over-the-air signal map before the event if you plan to rely on one.

What the organization says about its reach

The Golden Globes announcement said the awards are viewed in more than 185 countries and territories worldwide. That is the organization’s own stated reach, not an independently audited audience count.

The next ceremony: January 10, 2027

The 84th Annual Golden Globes is scheduled for Sunday, January 10, 2027, at 8:00 p.m. ET (5:00 p.m. PT), according to Paramount’s April 2026 announcement. A date and time announced this far in advance can change, so confirm the schedule with the Golden Globes website before planning around it.

If you searched for the 2026 start time to find out when the next show begins, the 2027 ceremony is the one to watch for, and it follows the same Sunday evening pattern as this year’s broadcast.
