Roman Reigns has closed the most WrestleMania nights: 11, with a 7–4 win-loss record in those matches through WrestleMania 42 (April 18–19, 2026). Hulk Hogan is second with eight under the same counting rule, followed by Triple H with seven. These totals count the final official match on each night—not every match billed as a main event—and include separate closers for both nights of a two-night WrestleMania.
How WrestleMania main events are counted
This ranking uses “night-closing main event” to mean the final official match on each WrestleMania night. That distinction matters: a two-night edition has two closers, and the match that actually ended a show can differ from the match originally scheduled or billed as its main event.
The totals below come from the event-by-event archive maintained by Smark Out Moment, updated through WrestleMania 42. The archive counts WrestleMania IX’s unplanned Hogan–Yokozuna match as the night’s closer. Win-loss figures are included where the archive establishes them; appearance totals alone should not be mistaken for verified records.
Wrestlers with the most WrestleMania night closers
| Rank | Wrestler | Night-closing matches | Record in those matches |

| 2 | Hulk Hogan | 8 | 7–1 |

Roman Reigns: 11 closers, 7–4
Reigns leads the count with 11 night-closing matches and seven wins against four losses. His run includes six consecutive WrestleMania editions, from WrestleMania 37 through WrestleMania 42. WrestleMania XL contributed two closers because it had two nights. Guinness World Records previewed the 2026 event by noting that Reigns was set to reach an 11th closer; the post-event archive now includes the completed WrestleMania 42 Night 2 match.

Hulk Hogan: 8 closers, 7–1
Hogan’s 7–1 record includes his loss to The Ultimate Warrior in the WrestleMania VI closer. His total is eight when the final match of WrestleMania IX is counted, though the scheduled championship main event immediately before it was Bret Hart against Yokozuna.
Triple H: 7 closers, 3–4
Triple H ranks third by appearances, with seven night closers and a 3–4 record in them.
The Rock and John Cena: 6 each
The Rock and Cena are tied at six night-closing appearances. The archive gives Cena’s record as 4–2; it lists The Rock’s appearance count but does not establish a win-loss figure in the cited ranking.
Four wrestlers tied at five
The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Brock Lesnar and Cody Rhodes each have five night-closing matches in the updated archive. The cited ranking establishes their appearance totals, not a comparable closer-specific win-loss record.

Why Hogan’s total is sometimes seven and sometimes eight
WWE’s retrospective describes Hogan as appearing in the conclusive contest of seven WrestleManias, or eight if his unscheduled WWE Championship win over Yokozuna is included as WrestleMania IX’s closer. The difference is a counting convention, not necessarily a math error: one count follows the scheduled main event, while the other follows the final official match that ended the show. This ranking uses the latter rule, consistent with the updated event-by-event archive. WWE also identifies Hogan versus André the Giant as the WrestleMania III main event, which Hogan won.
Why The Undertaker’s 21-win streak is a different statistic
The Undertaker’s famous WrestleMania streak measures his overall match results at the event, not how many times he closed a night. WWE’s retrospective records 21 wins in 22 WrestleMania appearances; the streak ended with his loss to Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 30. Undertaker has five night-closing appearances in the ranking above, so the 21–1 streak figure should not be used as his main-event record.

Why published rankings may differ
Rankings have to be compared by both counting rule and cutoff date. Netflix Tudum’s page displays an older-looking ranking with Reigns at 10, Hogan at eight, Triple H at seven, and Cena and The Rock at five. Guinness World Records’ April 17, 2026 preview anticipated Reigns’ 11th closer before WrestleMania 42 took place. The post-event Smark Out Moment archive, which lists the WrestleMania 42 Night 2 match and states its method, is the basis for the updated totals here.
WWE’s older retrospective said Hogan had four consecutive main events, then a record. That is historical context rather than the current consecutive-edition mark: the updated archive credits Reigns with closers at six consecutive editions, WrestleMania 37 through 42, counting both nights of WrestleMania XL.
