How Lohan describes her natural hair
In Vogue’s 2022 “Life in Looks” interview, Lohan referred to her “natural red hair” while recalling a blonde change. Read the Vogue interview. Allure likewise identified her as a natural redhead in a 2023 profile, which described colorist Tracey Cunningham toning, shading, darkening, and bleaching her hair over the years. In 2025, Allure reported that Lohan prefers her natural auburn color when she is not coloring her hair for work. That wording is the publication’s narration, not a direct quote from Lohan. Read the 2025 Allure interview.
Why some looks are called strawberry blonde or blonde
Those labels describe particular appearances, not a different account of her natural color. In a 2024 ELLE interview, Lohan called the shade she was wearing “strawberry blonde” and said it looked especially blonde in the interview lighting, adding that it was not as light in person. She has also discussed bleaching her natural red hair for a role, and coverage has documented other role-related color changes. A photograph or a description of one styled look therefore does not establish that her natural hair is blonde.
What her latest reported red look does—and doesn’t—confirm
In an August 5, 2026 report, Allure said Lohan had not confirmed whether an apparent return to red in her Instagram photos was a dye job. Her stylist’s tags for a wig maker and wig company suggested the look might instead have been a wig; that is an indication, not confirmation. Read Allure’s report.
