What happened to Nelly?
There is no documented turning point in the sources here that explains a disappearance from public life. Instead, they show a rapper who has remained active across music, television and live performance. That is a snapshot of publicly documented work, not a complete account of his plans or private life.

He continued releasing music
Apple Music lists St. Louie Summer as Nelly’s latest release, dated July 4, 2025, and includes the 2025 singles “Spin the Block” and “RODEO” in his catalog: Apple Music’s Nelly artist page.
Peacock described “Spin the Block” as a country-inspired serenade in a feature published June 26, 2025. That offers context for the song’s sound, but does not establish that Nelly released a new album or made a wholesale change of genre.

He appeared with Ashanti in a reality series
In a June 26, 2025 feature, Peacock said all eight episodes of Nelly and Ashanti: We Belong Together were then streaming exclusively on Peacock. The network described the series as following the couple’s relationship, marriage, parenthood and careers. Peacock also reported that Nelly first proposed making a reality series to Ashanti. These descriptions and the availability statement come from Peacock’s own promotional feature; current streaming availability has not been established here. Read Peacock’s feature about the series.
He has performed live and has dates listed for 2026
Apple Music’s artist page, accessed October 8, 2026, listed performances from October through December, including Miami on October 2, New Orleans on October 9, North Charleston on October 10 and Youngstown on December 11. These are page listings, not confirmation that a show took place or that tickets remain available; schedules can change.

There is also a recent, independently reported example of a live appearance: the Associated Press covered Nelly’s set at a Super Bowl-week “Homecoming” concert in New Orleans on February 8, 2025. AP reported that he performed “Ride Wit Me,” “E.I.,” “Air Force Ones,” “Dilemma” and “Hot in Herre.” Read the Associated Press report.

Taken together, the dated releases, television project and performance listings answer what Nelly has been doing publicly. They do not provide a first-person explanation for any perceived gap in attention, a comprehensive career update, or an announcement that he has retired. Claims about his motives or a definitive reason he has seemed less visible would go beyond what these sources establish.
