Brendan Fraser and his former wife, Afton Smith, have three sons: Griffin, Holden, and Leland. All three are now adults. Public records and interviews show a family that stayed close through the divorce, with Holden and Leland appearing alongside their father at public events, including the New York premiere of Pressure in May 2026. Griffin has stayed far more private. Beyond those points, the public record says little about the boys’ current lives, and this article does not fill in the gaps with guesswork.
Who the three sons are
Fraser and Smith married in 1998. Biography.com gives the sons’ birth years as 2002, 2004, and 2006, which makes Griffin the eldest, followed by Holden and then Leland.

The divorce timeline
The couple announced plans to divorce in 2007. TV Insider reports that the divorce was finalized in 2009. Coverage of the separation is largely limited to the financial and legal points below, and the sons themselves have not been quoted on it in the sources available.
The 2018 picture of family life
The clearest description of the boys’ living arrangements comes from a 2018 GQ interview. Fraser said his sons lived with their mother, Afton, in Greenwich, Connecticut, and added, “But they’re here all the time.” That was a snapshot of one period in 2018. It does not establish where the boys live now or how their time with each parent is divided today.

The same interview described Holden and Leland as supporting their older brother when they were younger. Fraser’s account of that dynamic is his own description, not a statement from the brothers.
Money and court claims after the separation
Biography.com reports that Fraser later petitioned to reduce his support payments. Smith disputed his account and alleged undisclosed film contracts. According to the same source, any change to the arrangement was not made public, and spousal support ended in 2019.

These are reported claims from each side. They should not be read as a complete account of the court record, and the public sources do not establish how the children’s support was handled.
Griffin and the autism disclosure
Fraser has spoken publicly about Griffin’s autism. In the 2018 GQ interview he said, “Griffin’s rated on the autism spectrum. Um, and so he needs extra love in the world, and he gets it.” That is the father describing his son, and it is the only detailed public account of Griffin’s needs in the sources available. Griffin’s identity is not defined by that diagnosis, and coverage that reduces him to it misses most of who he is publicly, which is very little.

What the public record does not show
- Current residence for any of the three sons.
- Any current custody or support arrangement. The most recent reported change was the 2019 end of spousal support, and no custody arrangement for the adult sons is reported.
- Education, employment, relationships, or finances for Griffin, beyond the points above.
- The sons’ own views on their parents’ divorce or on Fraser’s public comments about them.
If the sons speak about their own lives in interviews or on social media, that would be a better source than their father’s comments or secondhand reports.

The most recent public appearance is the May 2026 Pressure premiere, where Holden and Leland stood with Fraser. That is the clearest evidence that the brothers remain connected to their father professionally and personally. Public coverage shows affection and presence at that event, but it does not reveal the private state of each son’s relationships. As of October 2026, nothing newer has been reported that changes this picture.
