Charlie Sheen and Jenny McCarthy’s documented connection was professional: she played his love interest on Two and a Half Men. Their later public comments concerned the show’s crew and an on-screen kiss—not a confirmed romance or feud. The cited reports do not establish that the two had a private relationship, fell out, or later reconciled.
How Sheen and McCarthy were connected on the show
McCarthy appeared on Two and a Half Men as a love interest for Sheen’s character, Charlie Harper. The role included an on-screen kiss, as TIME described in its November 2015 account of McCarthy’s comments (TIME).

A romantic storyline between fictional characters is not evidence that the actors dated. The cited accounts establish their work together on the sitcom, but do not document an off-screen romance.
What Sheen said about McCarthy and the crew
In January 2012, Sheen recounted a comment McCarthy had made to a reporter when she appeared on the show in 2011: that the crew missed him most when she was there. TheWrap reported the exchange as part of a press Q&A. Sheen said he tried to treat crew members’ work as important to his own, then responded to the report by saying, “Absolutely. They were all Team Charlie. It was pretty cool.” (TheWrap).
#1 Best Overall
That is Sheen’s account of what McCarthy told the reporter, not independent confirmation of the crew’s collective opinion. The exchange describes a positive comment about the show’s working relationships; it does not establish a personal relationship between Sheen and McCarthy.
Why McCarthy later discussed their on-screen kiss
In November 2015, after Sheen publicly disclosed that he was HIV-positive, McCarthy spoke on her radio show about feeling uneasy in retrospect about having kissed him while filming. TIME reported her reaction and said Sheen’s representatives stated that he had not yet been infected when McCarthy appeared on the sitcom (TIME).
The timing statement should be understood as a claim from Sheen’s representatives, as reported by TIME; that article does not independently establish it. McCarthy’s remarks concerned her feelings about the on-screen scene after the disclosure. They are not evidence that the kiss transmitted HIV or that Sheen and McCarthy had a private relationship.
Sheen’s “fake friendship” remark was about Chuck Lorre
Sheen’s 2011 description of a “fake friendship” referred to his relationship with Two and a Half Men creator Chuck Lorre, not to McCarthy. CBS News reported the remark in coverage of Sheen’s interview with 20/20 (CBS News). It should not be used as evidence of a falling-out between Sheen and McCarthy.

What the public record does—and does not—show
The cited reports document McCarthy’s guest role, Sheen’s 2012 recollection of a crew-related comment, and McCarthy’s 2015 remarks about their on-screen kiss. They do not establish an off-screen romance, a feud, or a reconciliation. They also do not show whether Sheen and McCarthy have had contact since those reports.
