ActionGlow appears to remain active: its official website currently lists ActionGlow2 LED lighting systems for wakesurfing, biking, OneWheel riding and stand-up paddleboarding. The Porter brothers did receive an on-air offer from Robert Herjavec, but they later renegotiated the terms during due diligence. The final deal terms have not been disclosed publicly in the sources available here.
What is ActionGlow, and what does it sell now?
ActionGlow was founded by brothers Garret and Dakota Porter around LED lighting for action-sports equipment. Its official storefront currently presents ActionGlow2 systems for wakesurfing, bikes, OneWheel boards and stand-up paddleboards. That catalog indicates the company is still presenting products for sale; it does not establish its profitability or financial condition.
ABC described the original pitch as a lighting system that could be applied to sporting equipment, naming snowboards, skis, surfboards and longboards as examples. The current storefront lists a different set of sport-specific systems. Product descriptions on the company site, including claims about waterproofing, rugged construction and tool-free installation, are company claims rather than independent test results.
When did ActionGlow appear on Shark Tank?
The Porter brothers appeared in Season 14, Episode 7, which ABC dates to November 18, 2022. The network’s episode page describes their pitch for lighting sporting equipment. ActionGlow’s founder-authored account of the Shark Tank journey says the brothers applied repeatedly before being selected.

The company’s origin story goes back further. The founders say they first imagined LED lights for snowboards on a dark ski slope in 2012 and spent the following two years designing and engineering the product.
What offer did Robert Herjavec make, and what happened to the deal?
In a January 2025 interview with The Ticker, the founders said Herjavec offered $200,000 for 30% of the company. The brothers had sought the same investment for 15%, according to that account. The interview also cites $130,000 in lifetime sales over 10 years among the figures presented to the Sharks.
Garret Porter told The Ticker, “We were able to renegotiate the terms in a favorable manner with Robert and his team.” The interview does not disclose the final investment amount or equity stake, so the on-air offer should not be treated as the completed deal.
How did sales change after the episode aired?

These are founder-reported figures from that interview, not independently audited financial results. They describe the company’s account at the time of the interview, not a verified current growth rate.

In January 2025, Dakota Porter said the company was selling directly through its website or Amazon and planned to pursue independent surf, skate, ski and bike shops. He also discussed a road tour as part of that effort. The interview establishes those as reported sales channels and plans at that time; it does not confirm which shops later became stockists or whether a particular Amazon product is currently available.
What should a buyer check before installing a kit?
ActionGlow publishes system-specific installation guidance. Its support page lists videos for snowboard, ski and OneWheel systems and says to follow the videos closely because correct installation affects performance and longevity.
