Aira, the wireless-charging company founded by Jake Slatnick and Eric Goodchild, later became FreePower. It now presents its technology as a charging system built beneath stone countertops and sold through dealers and professional partners. Its official website was live on October 8, 2026, but that does not verify the company’s financial performance or availability in every market.
What did Aira pitch on Shark Tank?
Aira appeared on Shark Tank Season 11, Episode 3. Its wireless-charging surface was designed to let people place devices across the charging area without carefully aligning them with a particular coil. The company also described a licensing approach, with other manufacturers incorporating its technology into products.
The founders asked for $500,000 in exchange for 7% equity. Episode-update sources report that they accepted $500,000 for 15% from Lori Greiner, Robert Herjavec, and Kevin O’Leary. That is the deal reported as accepted on air; the available reporting does not establish the complete post-show investment history. One secondary update says the deal later closed and that Herjavec was the only Shark involved, so the on-air agreement should not be treated as proof that all three ultimately invested.
How did Aira become FreePower?
After the show, Aira adopted the name FreePower and developed its wireless-charging technology for integration into surfaces and products. A historical update reported that the company appeared at CES in January 2020 and partnered with Nomad on a Base Station. Those reports document earlier activity; they do not establish that the Nomad product is currently sold or available.

FreePower’s current official site presents the technology as a system embedded beneath stone countertops. The company says the installation can charge multiple devices across an active area and uses an illuminated halo to indicate where devices can be placed. FreePower describes the integration as “seamlessly embedded beneath stone countertops for a stealthy and elegant look.” FreePower’s official site displays “230+ Patent Assets”; that is the company’s wording, and the page does not explain whether the figure includes granted patents, applications, or other assets.
How is FreePower sold now?
Rather than presenting the countertop system as a typical standalone charging pad, FreePower directs prospective buyers through dealers and professional channels. Its site lists fabricators, showrooms, interior designers, kitchen and bath showrooms, builders, furniture and case-goods companies, and commercial customers. That makes installation and local availability dependent on the relevant professional channel.

FreePower also documents a factory integration with Cosentino surface materials, including Silestone, Dekton, and Sensa. Its Cosentino partnership page describes a five-year warranty for the offering covered there. Confirm the current terms, region, and product eligibility with the seller before relying on that warranty when making a purchase.
Is Aira, now FreePower, still in business?
As of October 8, 2026, FreePower’s official website was live and displayed product, contact, dealer, and professional information. That supports saying the company remains publicly active online and continues to present its technology for sale or integration. It does not independently confirm shipment volumes, financial health, or availability of every product in every market.

The clearest change is in how the technology is presented and obtained: Aira’s flexible-placement charging concept became FreePower’s integrated-surface system, marketed through dealers and professional partners. The current model is a built-in countertop installation, not necessarily a direct substitute for a consumer buying an ordinary charging pad at retail. Ask a local dealer about compatible materials, installation, pricing, and availability for the specific project.
