She has described him as largely absent during her childhood, criticized how he treated her femininity and queerness, and rejected his public account of their relationship. Her views are hers alone: the available public reporting does not establish what Musk’s other children think.
What Vivian Jenna Wilson has said about her father
Wilson’s comments describe both a painful childhood relationship and her present-day distance from Musk. These are her recollections and opinions, not independently verified findings about every aspect of their family history.
Her account of childhood and estrangement
In 2024, Wilson disputed Musk’s public description of her childhood as “entirely fake.” As reported by The Washington Post on July 26, 2024, she said: “He doesn’t know what I was like as a child because he quite simply wasn’t there.” She has also said that when he was present, he harassed her for her femininity and queerness.
Wilson’s 2022 petition to change her name, quoted in the same Washington Post report, stated: “I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form.” The filing makes her stated estrangement clear; it does not tell us what other members of the family feel.

Her views today
In a Teen Vogue interview published March 20, 2025, Wilson said she disagreed with Musk’s politics and sometimes responds online to denounce things she sees him do in the news. She called him “a pathetic man-child,” while also describing how little space he occupies in her thoughts: “I’m not giving anyone that space in my mind.”
Wilson’s public criticism has included Musk’s January 2025 rally gesture. Speaking to The Guardian on March 20, 2025, she said: “That shit was definitely a Nazi salute.” That is Wilson’s characterization of the gesture.

Do Musk’s other children feel the same way?
There is not enough public evidence to say. The reporting cited here gives a substantial first-person account from Wilson, but it does not establish her siblings’ private views or provide a basis for treating her perspective as theirs.
Wilson told The Guardian that she did not keep up with Musk’s side of the family and did not know how many siblings she had if half-siblings were included. That detail is a reason to be cautious about broad claims—not evidence of what any sibling thinks.

What can—and cannot—be concluded
- What is on the record: Wilson has publicly described estrangement, said Musk was absent for much of her childhood, criticized his treatment of her, and challenged his account of their relationship.
- What remains unknown: The sources cited here do not reveal what Musk’s other children think of him privately, or whether they share Wilson’s perspective.
- How to read the accounts: Wilson’s statements are her own recollections and judgments. Musk’s public comments about her should likewise be treated as his account, not as a substitute for hers.
