In August 2024, Allen described proposing at home and said the couple were still weighing a wedding in Western Australia’s Great Southern, including Denmark, where much of his family lived.
How Oscar Allen proposed to Lorna McNabb
Allen told PerthNow that he proposed at home on a Saturday morning in early August 2024, after the couple had played the previous Friday night. He had planned to take McNabb to lunch to celebrate, but waited until that morning instead. At 8 a.m., he got dressed in jeans and a shirt, which made her suspicious. PerthNow’s 16 August 2024 report recounts Allen’s story from an interview with HIT WA’s Allan and Carly.
Allen said he was nervous but confident McNabb would say yes. He recalled that they both cried and described the proposal as deliberately low-key: “I did it at home. It was very nice, just like a normal day.”
Where they were considering getting married in 2024
At the time, Allen said they were considering Western Australia’s Great Southern. Many of his family lived in Denmark, so he floated holding the wedding there; McNabb felt Denmark was too far. Allen also said his brother was due to marry in Denmark that March. The couple were still looking into options, and Allen said, “No final calls have been made yet.”

Those comments were a snapshot of their plans in August 2024, not confirmation of the venue they eventually chose.
What is confirmed about their wedding
PerthNow reported on 30 November 2025 that Allen and McNabb had married in an intimate ceremony on Saturday night, attended by family, friends and former West Coast teammates, before their move to Queensland. The report included wedding photographs shared by guests, but did not name the ceremony venue. The November 2025 report confirms the marriage, not whether it took place in Denmark or elsewhere in the Great Southern.
