Eminem surprised the crowd at Ford Field in Detroit on May 18, 2025, joining Jelly Roll during the opening act’s set to perform “Lose Yourself.” The appearance took place at Post Malone’s Big Ass Stadium Tour stop; NME reports that Eminem entered for the song’s second verse.
What happened at Ford Field
Jelly Roll was performing his support set at Post Malone’s Detroit show when Eminem appeared onstage. They performed “Lose Yourself,” the 2002 song from the film 8 Mile. Contactmusic reported the date, venue and tour context, while NME independently described Eminem joining during the second verse.

Why the appearance resonated
The Detroit performance connected the song closely associated with Eminem’s Detroit-set film to a hometown stadium show. It also marked another shared stage moment for the two artists: they had previously appeared together at the Michigan Central concert in Detroit in June 2024, according to the event coverage.
Contactmusic characterized Jelly Roll’s reaction as a “childhood dream come true.” That wording is attributed to secondary reporting, rather than presented here as a verified direct quote.
