The official Spider-Noir trailer shows Nicolas Cage as Ben Reilly in a 1930s New York noir setting, and Prime Video promoted it in two presentations: “Authentic Black & White” and “True-Hue Full Color.” The black-and-white version is the one that matches the noir look, but it is an option, not the only way to watch the series.
What the trailer offers
Prime Video’s official trailer page, published April 25, 2026, identifies Spider-Noir as a live-action series starring Nicolas Cage. The page promotes both a black-and-white and a color version of the trailer. The black-and-white cut is the one that gives the series its noir identity, and it is the reason the trailer is being discussed as a visual piece rather than only as a teaser.
The phrase “kick black-and-white butt” in this article’s headline is editorial wording. It is not an official tagline from Amazon or the production.
The two presentations, side by side
Amazon labels the two options differently. The table below compares what the official materials establish about each one.
#1 Best Overall

The official sources establish the visual treatment and the labels. They do not say whether the two options differ in plot, runtime or episode content, so choose between them on visual preference.
The premise
The official synopsis, as reproduced by Ars Technica, describes Ben Reilly (Nicolas Cage) as “a seasoned, down on his luck private investigator in 1930s New York, who is forced to grapple with his past life, following a deeply personal tragedy, as the city’s one and only superhero.” The series is based on the Marvel comic Spider-Man Noir.

What the official sources do not establish
The trailer pages and title information consulted do not include named statistics, personal statements from cast or crew, or viewing figures. Trailer view counts are time-sensitive and do not tell you how the series was received, so this article does not use them. For plot details beyond the official premise, the series itself is the best source.
If you want the noir look, start with the “Authentic Black & White” presentation. If you want the trailer’s colors as shot, choose “True-Hue Full Color.” Either way, the official materials describe the same series.
