Sikoa won their first-round match in John Cena’s Last Time Is Now Tournament. Before the show, some fans had guessed Austin Theory based on a wordplay clue from Raw general manager Adam Pearce—but Theory was not the reveal.
Why fans guessed Austin Theory
Before the Madison Square Garden show, WWE billed Sikoa against an unnamed opponent in the tournament’s first round. A report by The Sportster, republished by Yardbarker, said Pearce promoted the match by noting that fans had “a ton of theories” and asking whether they could all be wrong. Some fans treated “theories” as a hint toward Austin Theory.
That was speculation based on a play on words, not an official identification or confirmation that Theory had been considered for the match. The same report also mentioned Chris Jericho and Nic Nemeth—known in WWE as Dolph Ziggler—as other names fans proposed. Its comments reflect reported reactions, not a measure of what WWE fans broadly believed.
Who did Solo Sikoa face, and who won?
WWE’s official Raw results for Nov. 17, 2025 identify the opponent as Dolph Ziggler and record the result as “Solo Sikoa def. Dolph Ziggler in a Last Time is Now Tournament Match.” WWE’s recap says Sikoa hit a Soman Spike to earn the first-round victory over the returning Ziggler.

The answer to the mystery is therefore Ziggler, not Austin Theory. WWE’s preview had billed the bout as Sikoa versus a mystery opponent; the official results later resolved the identity and outcome.
How the clue and result fit together
The match drew attention because it was part of the first round of the Last Time Is Now Tournament, tied to John Cena’s final Raw appearance. Pearce’s “theories” wording gave fans a tempting Austin Theory connection, but the clue did not establish who would appear. The event result—not the wordplay—settled the question.
