The other standout picks span major six-person matches with Rikishi, a WrestleMania appearance and later Scotty 2 Hotty–Rikishi pairings. This is an editorial shortlist, not an official WWE ranking: WWE’s records establish the matches and their stakes, but do not publish a definitive order.
How Too Cool changed—and what counts as a Too Cool match
Too Cool began as Scotty 2 Hotty and Grandmaster Sexay, previously associated as Too Much. WWE’s retrospective says that after Grandmaster Sexay was sidelined for five months in 1999, Scotty developed the Worm. When the pair returned, Rikishi joined their dance-party presentation. Scotty recalled the first dance with Rikishi as “instant magic,” a memory rather than a measured account of crowd response. WWE’s Brian Christopher highlight page identifies a June 13, 1999 Heat clip as Too Cool’s debut.
The name covers more than one lineup. Some entries below feature the original duo with Rikishi, some add another partner, and the later matches bill Scotty and Rikishi together without Grandmaster Sexay. The list includes matches billed as Too Cool or featuring its core members in the later pairing; it does not include the optional Scotty singles match against Taka Michinoku and Dean Malenko.

Too Cool vs. Edge & Christian — World Tag Team Championship, Raw, May 29, 2000
The defining pick is the title win. WWE’s match video records the bout, and its retrospective calls the victory one of Scotty’s crowning achievements. For a shortlist that needs one match to represent Too Cool’s peak as a tag team, this is the strongest choice.

-
Too Cool & Rikishi vs. Right to Censor — SummerSlam 2000
The opposing act’s stern, censorious presentation made it a natural foil for Too Cool’s dance-party persona. WWE’s SummerSlam results confirm that Right to Censor won. The event and the contrast between the acts make the match a useful part of the shortlist, without requiring an unsupported claim about its in-ring quality.

Four-team elimination match for the World Tag Team Championship — King of the Ring, June 25, 2000
Too Cool shared this championship match with Edge & Christian, The Hardy Boyz and T & A. WWE’s contents page for You Think You Know Me? The Story of Edge identifies the match and its participants. Its elimination format and four-team field distinguish it from the one-on-one title match at the top of the list.
-
Rikishi & Scotty 2 Hotty vs. The APA, The Basham Brothers and The World’s Greatest Tag Team — WWE Tag Team Championship, WrestleMania XX
This four-team title match belongs on a Too Cool-related list because Rikishi and Scotty are billed together. WWE’s dedicated match page identifies the teams and championship stakes. Grandmaster Sexay is not listed as a competitor, so this is a later pairing rather than a match by the original duo or full trio.

Rikishi & Too Cool vs. 3MB — Raw, January 6, 2014
This reunion-era six-person match is the list’s late echo of the act’s popularity. WWE’s Raw highlights listing identifies the match. It is included for the group’s return, not for championship stakes.
What this ranking can—and cannot—settle
The order weighs championship significance, event prominence, opponent depth and how clearly each match represents the duo, Rikishi-associated trio or later Scotty–Rikishi pairing. WWE’s archive is useful for checking billing, dates, results and match context; it does not establish a universal best-match ranking or a shared quality score. The first-place choice is therefore an editorial judgment grounded in the title victory and WWE’s own retrospective emphasis.
