There is no single, verified fan ranking of the worst wrestlers in history behind this headline. A nearby WhatCulture video describes a list of 20 low-ranked wrestlers based on Cagematch user ratings, but the exact list, order and vote totals promised by the headline have not been confirmed. That distinction matters: ratings from one platform’s users are not a poll of all WWE fans, and a low rating is not proof that a performer lacked ability or impact.
What ranking can be verified?
WhatCulture’s 2025 video description says its “20 Absolute Worst Wrestlers EVER” ranking draws on Cagematch users’ ratings: WhatCulture’s video. A separate WhatCulture article says its “10 Worst WWE Wrestlers Ever” list also uses Cagematch rankings and describes the site as a place where users grade wrestlers, matches and shows: WhatCulture’s WWE list.

These are related examples, not confirmation of the exact list implied by this headline. The available source descriptions do not establish its names, rank order or vote totals, so presenting a definitive set of “the worst” would overstate what is known.
Why “worst wrestler” depends on the criteria
A ranking can refer to several different things that should not be treated as interchangeable:

#1 Best Overall
- Fan Favorites! WWE action figures bring Superstars to life in 6-inch scale.
- TrueFX Technology! Each figure is detailed with a life-like face for added collectability.
- Dynamic Posing! Fans can recreate signature moves with 14 points of articulation.
- Play and Display! Reenact favorite WWE Main Event matches or create new rivalries and moves.
- Super Collectible! WWE fans can find their favorite Superstar figures (each sold separately, subject to availability).
- In-ring performance: a judgment about a wrestler’s work in matches.
- Character or audience reaction: a performer may be disliked because a villainous character is effective, not because the performer is poor.
- Booking: criticism of how a promotion used a wrestler is different from criticism of the wrestler’s own work.
- Platform rating: a score reflects the users who rated someone on that platform, not all fans or an independently representative survey.
Other lists frame “worst” around a hated character or fan reaction, while a separate Sportlister ranking covers 15 wrestlers in WWE history. Those differing frames and scopes make the lists difficult to compare directly: Sportlister’s WWE list.

A Cagematch rating can show how the platform’s participating users scored a wrestler. It does not, by itself, measure general fan opinion, establish technical ability, or explain whether voters were reacting to a character, a run of booking, or match work. The ranking’s scope also matters: a WWE-specific list is not automatically a judgment of a wrestler’s entire career across promotions.
Rank #2
- Roll down to the ring with the Lucha Low Rider vehicle.
- Includes a WWE Main Event Rey Mysterio action figure with advanced articulation.
- Recreate iconic entrances with the Lucha Low Rider hydraulics action.
- Rey Mysterio can enter the match with the vehicle's launching action.
- Ride into matches with real rolling wheels.
So the controversy is best understood as a disagreement over both evidence and definition. Before debating a name, ask who supplied the ratings, what period and promotion the list covers, and whether “worst” means performance, character, booking or audience reaction.
