That is the stated award—not a confirmed after-tax payout. The available sources do not establish how much Fraser ultimately kept after taxes.
How much did the Survivor 48 winner get?
CBS and Paramount announced that the Season 48 Sole Survivor would receive $1 million, and CBS repeated that amount in its official listing for the finale, “Only One of Yous Can Win.” CBS 58 reported that Kyle Fraser won the season and took home the $1 million prize after the May 21, 2025 finale.
Fraser told CBS 58 he planned to use the money to repay student loans and support his family.
Does the winner keep the entire $1 million?
Not necessarily. The $1 million is the publicized prize amount, not a verified net payout. IRS Publication 525 (2025) says prizes from television or radio quiz programs and other events must be included in income. That general guidance does not calculate Fraser’s tax bill or establish his final take-home amount.

The cited sources do not disclose Fraser’s individual tax return, any withholding, applicable state or local taxes, or his eventual net total. There is no reliable figure here for how much of the prize he kept, so a specific after-tax estimate would be speculation. For advice about an individual tax situation, consult a qualified tax professional.
