After Collingwood beat Brisbane by four points in the 2023 AFL Grand Final, Nathan Buckley celebrated at the MCG with Brodie Ryan, whom a report published the next day described as his partner. Bec Judd, who attended with her husband Chris Judd and supported Brisbane, also congratulated the winning Pies.
What the report said about Buckley and Ryan
PerthNow’s 1 October 2023 report said Nathan Buckley celebrated Collingwood’s Grand Final victory with Brodie Ryan, described in the article as his partner. The report attributed the phrases “Best day ever…” and “So grateful, GO PIES.” to an Instagram post by Ryan.
Those details describe what was reported at the time; they do not establish anyone’s current relationship status. PerthNow is the source for the relationship description and the wording attributed to Ryan’s post: PerthNow’s report.
Why Bec Judd cheered Collingwood
The same report said Bec Judd attended with Chris Judd and was a Brisbane supporter, but cheered Collingwood after the result. PerthNow reproduced her Instagram story as: “Go Pies! Even as an opposition supporter, you guys played an amazing brand of football this year and were great to watch. Well deserved”. The quoted wording is attributed to PerthNow’s account of the story, not independently verified here.
