A viral clip circulated in March 2025 showing Elon Musk displaying a fork-and-two-spoon arrangement at a dinner where Donald Trump was nearby. Coverage describes the cutlery balanced on Musk’s finger; the clip does not establish why he did it or support claims about his health or substance use.
What the video reportedly shows
Futurism described footage circulating online in which Musk holds up a construction made from a fork and two spoons. A person behind the camera is heard asking, “Elon, what the hell are you doing?” The article credited X user @DaoKwoDo, also known as Books, as the apparent source of the clips. Futurism’s March 25, 2025 report recounts the scene and its online reception.
Asianet Newsable described Musk balancing the two spoons and fork on a finger during a dinner on March 21, 2025, at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey. That location and date are reported by Asianet Newsable; they are not independent authentication of the original footage. Asianet Newsable’s account gives those event details.
What Musk reportedly said about the cutlery
Mediaite reported that Musk later described the act in a post as: “A fork and two spoons balanced on the tip of my finger.” This is the wording attributed to his post by Mediaite.

Why viewers called it strange—and what that does not prove
“Strange” and “bizarre” are reactions to an unusual-looking moment, not objective findings about Musk’s state of mind. Futurism reported that some viewers speculated about ketamine and other explanations, but the described footage does not show what caused the behavior. It cannot establish intoxication, a diagnosis, or any other explanation; those remain unsupported speculation, not facts.
