Van Hunt marked U.S. Mother’s Day on May 12, 2024, with an Instagram tribute to Halle Berry: a cheeky caption alongside a balcony photo of Berry facing away and looking back over her shoulder. The joke about not being supposed to post the image does not establish that the upload was actually accidental.
What Van Hunt posted
Entertainment outlets reported that Hunt shared the post on Sunday, May 12, 2024, the date of Mother’s Day in the United States. The photo showed Berry nude on a balcony, facing away and looking back over her shoulder. Glamour, E! and Entertainment Tonight reported on it the following day.
What did the caption say?
Glamour reproduced Hunt’s caption as: “happy Mother’s day from the bottom… of my heart.” He continued, “…oh shit, i wasn’t s’posed to post that!” and added, “butt…u hav to admit thassa badass… mutha right there!” Other outlets printed close variants, including differences in punctuation and the handling of profanity; the wording above follows Glamour’s reproduction rather than combining versions.
Was the post really accidental?
The caption’s “wasn’t s’posed to post that” line reads as part of the joke, but the reporting does not verify that the upload was an accident. Nor does it establish the couple’s private intent or consent. It is accurate to describe the caption’s suggestion; it is not accurate to present an accidental post as a confirmed fact.

The Mother’s Day context
Contemporary coverage described Berry as the mother of two children, daughter Nahla and son Maceo, and Hunt as her partner at the time. Those are details from 2024 reporting, not claims about their current relationship status or the children’s ages. Entertainment Tonight also reported that Berry shared her own Mother’s Day tribute to Hunt’s mother, referring to her as her “beautiful mother-in-law.”
