Vanessa Hudgens criticized paparazzi photos showing her and her newborn leaving the hospital, saying their family’s privacy had been disrespected and exploited. In the same response, she said she, her husband Cole Tucker and the baby were happy and healthy.
What happened
In July 2024, photos circulated showing Hudgens and Tucker leaving a hospital with their newborn. Hudgens responded in Instagram Stories on July 4, according to Vogue and ABC News. The Los Angeles Times reported that she confirmed the birth after the photos circulated online.
Why was Vanessa Hudgens upset?
Hudgens objected to the images being published, describing the moment as private and special for her family. Vogue reported that the pictures were published without her consent. That is a report about the circumstances as presented, not a court finding that a law was violated.
Vogue reproduced Hudgens’s statement: “We’re disappointed that our family’s privacy was disrespected and exploited during this very special time due to the greed of a long-lens camera feeding the media.”

Hudgens also addressed her family’s wellbeing. ABC News reproduced her follow-up: “Despite all of that, mom dad and baby are happy and healthy.” Contemporary reports describe Tucker as her husband and the baby as their first child.
What is known about the photographs?
The reporting establishes that photos of the couple leaving the hospital circulated and that Hudgens criticized their publication. The sources cited here do not establish who took the pictures, how the photographer learned about the departure, or whether the images remain available. There is no basis in these reports to claim that hospital staff disclosed information or that a particular person provided a tip.
