VShojo announced it was shutting down on July 24, 2025, after a wave of talent departures and public allegations about unpaid creator earnings and charity funds. CEO Justin “Gunrun” Ignacio said the agency had failed to build sustainable revenue, could not raise more investment, and had been mismanaged. The financial allegations remain disputed in the sources available; they are not court findings.
What happened to VShojo?
VShojo CEO Justin “Gunrun” Ignacio announced the shutdown on July 24, 2025. In a statement quoted by PC Gamer, he wrote, “VShojo has failed, and I’ve mismanaged the company into the situation you’re witnessing.” He also said the company was closing and that he took responsibility for the decisions that led there.

Ignacio said VShojo had raised around $11 million, but its revenue did not sustain spending on creator support, infrastructure, events, and staff. He said fundraising for additional investment had failed. These are the CEO’s account of the company’s finances, not an independently audited breakdown in the cited report.
Why did the talents leave?
The departures became public in the days before the shutdown announcement. On July 21, 2025, Ironmouse announced she was leaving VShojo and alleged the agency owed her a significant amount of money. She also alleged that more than $500,000 intended for the Immune Deficiency Foundation had not been delivered. PC Gamer reported the disputed charity sum as $515,000; that figure describes the reported allegation, not an independently audited total.

On July 22, PC Gamer reported that Kson, Projekt Melody, AmaLee, Hime Hajime, Kuro, and Michi Mochievee had announced they were leaving. Kson said she had not been paid since September 2024. Those statements should be understood as the creators’ claims, rather than findings established by a court.
A July 27 retrospective by A Week in VT collected further creator accounts and reports of planned debuts that were canceled or delayed. Those accounts add context to the fallout, but do not prove every allegation or establish the terms of each creator’s contract.

In his shutdown statement, Ignacio said some money raised in connection with talent activity—which he later learned was intended for a charitable initiative—had been spent while VShojo pursued further investment. He said the fundraising effort failed. As PC Gamer noted, the statement did not clarify whether any of the disputed charity funds remained or would be donated.
This account differs from Ironmouse’s allegation that $515,000 intended for the Immune Deficiency Foundation had not been delivered. The cited reporting does not establish the final disposition of the funds or resolve the disagreement.
