In the 1993 film Tombstone, Doc Holliday confronts Johnny Ringo in a tense showdown that turns their earlier “Play for Blood” challenge into a draw. Val Kilmer plays Holliday; Michael Biehn plays Ringo. The duel is part of the film’s story, not evidence that the historical men fought this way.
What happens in the Doc Holliday and Johnny Ringo duel?
The confrontation grows out of the film’s conflict between Wyatt Earp and the surviving Cowboys. D23’s plot summary places Ringo and Curly Bill among the leaders pursuing Earp and his allies after the O.K. Corral gunfight, before the gang is ultimately defeated. D23’s film entry identifies Tombstone as a 1993 feature directed by George P. Cosmatos, released on December 25, 1993.

When Ringo tells Holliday that his fight is not with him, Holliday insists they have a game left unfinished. Ringo says he was only fooling; Holliday makes clear that he was not. They prepare to draw, Holliday says “Say when,” and the film has Holliday shoot Ringo. Holliday then speaks with Wyatt Earp.
What does Doc Holliday say before the draw?
IMDb’s quote listing gives Holliday’s response as: “I beg to differ, sir. We started a game we never got to finish. ‘Play for Blood,’ remember?” Ringo answers, “Oh that. I was just foolin’ about.” Holliday replies, “I wasn’t.” As they ready themselves to draw, Holliday says, “Say when.” IMDb’s quote listing attributes these lines to the characters; wording and punctuation may differ from the film.

Who plays Holliday and Ringo?
Val Kilmer plays Doc Holliday and Michael Biehn plays Johnny Ringo in Tombstone, according to D23’s film entry. The confrontation is a set piece in the film’s Western storyline, not a documentary record.
Did Doc Holliday and Johnny Ringo really duel?
The scene should not be treated as established history. The available film references describe what happens in Tombstone; they do not establish that Holliday and Ringo had the duel shown, spoke these lines, or met this way. Those claims require reliable historical evidence beyond a movie plot or quote listing.
